🐝 The Qur’an and the remarkable world of bees

In Surah An-Nahl (16:68–69), Allah describes how He inspired the bee to build its homes, feed on different fruits, and produce a drink from its belly in which there is healing for people.

What makes these verses remarkable is the detail:

• The Qur’an refers to the bees using feminine grammatical forms, consistent with the fact that worker bees—the bees responsible for foraging and honey production—are female.

• Honey is known today to possess antimicrobial and medicinal properties, including uses in wound care and other therapeutic applications.

• Another intriguing observation is the chapter number, 16, which corresponds to the chromosome number of male honey bees. Female honey bees have 32 chromosomes (16 pairs). While this numerical correspondence should be viewed as an interesting observation rather than a scientific proof, it is certainly thought-provoking.

The Qur’an was revealed more than 1,400 years ago, long before modern genetics and biology.

🔴 نیپال میں آنے والے تباہ کن سیلاب اور لینڈ سلائیڈنگ کے بعد امدادی ٹیم نے 6 سالہ بچی منیشا کو تقریباً 60 گھنٹے تک ملبے اور کیچڑ تلے دبے رہنے کے بعد زندہ نکال لیا۔ ریسکیو اہلکاروں نے ملبے کے نیچے سے بچی کے رونے کی آواز سنی، جس کے بعد ہاتھوں سے کھدائی کرکے اسے باہر نکالا گیا۔

This video has now come from the floods in Nepal. The river was rising rapidly, with the water almost touching the cable bridge. This man’s family was stranded on the other side, while he was on the opposite side.

The bridge could have broken at any moment. But this man had to reach his family because he was the only earning member, and without him, his family would struggle to survive.

So he risked his own life and ran across the bridge through the terrifying flood, knowing it could collapse at any moment. He ran as fast as he could over a long distance until he was completely exhausted.

But the moment he reached the other side, he slowed down and walked calmly. He was exhausted, but happy because he had crossed the biggest obstacle and safely reached his family, as if he had just won a battle.

This is what a man does for his family. He can risk his own life, but he will never abandon his family when they need him the most.

Men are built differently. Salute to this man.

You may criticise this man but on this issue he has raised a very important and genuine concern.
What he has highlighted cannot simply be dismissed. Our water bodies are being encroached upon and filled up by land grabbers. Have we learnt nothing from the 2014 floods? Did we not see what happened in Nepal recently? When we play with nature, nature eventually plays back. Wake up before it is too late.
And where is the @jklcma (LAWDA) sleeping. Where are the so-called environmental activists? How long will we remain silent while our water bodies are destroyed?
