✨Personal news: my role @energyintel is expanding. I’m now a Low Carbon Technology Reporter, adding nuclear to a beat covering hydrogen, CCS, DAC, geothermal, biofuels etc. I’ll be relocating to NYC later this year to focus more on low-carbon finance and policy.
So many good tidbits in here, but this is particularly illuminating:
@TexasTribune found that nearly half of the planned data centers in Texas are set to be built in unincorporated areas — up from 12% now.
That's important bc TX counties lack the broad zoning power cities have.
NEWS: Utah officials say the Fervo Cape Station well blowout is now over and under control. The incident began Monday after drill rods failed, leading to a limited hot water release. No injuries, environmental damage, or expected impact to schedule. https://t.co/Pq8pJAq8JE
This partnership is about more than reactor deployment. It’s a long-term step toward building a commercial closed-fuel-cycle system in the United States.

Can @FermiAmerica cool four AP1000 reactors with virtually no water?
One industry veteran who studied the concept in the 2000s calls air-cooling at that scale “pissing in the wind.”
Fermi says new tech + engineering makes it possible.
