The Gachagua judgment is a political decision at best as it is legally absurd. The Constitution expressly provides that any decision in violation of rights void. The effect of impeachment is that the person cannot hold public office. So how does a decision in violation of rights for which the Court has awarded damages operate as a bar to running for office. Those are judicial gymnastics that reflect a captured court

Suffice it to say, every move by IEBC must be treated with utmost suspicion and subjected to rigorous scrutiny in the court of public opinion. The price of democracy is eternal vigilance.
President Ruto's prospects of securing a second term are in the doldrums; moreso after his failed attempt at inheriting the late Raila Odinga's political base by courting ODM. With a grossly underwhelming track record and palpable disrepute, he has no legitimate saving grace.
