You people always speak in absolutes & it’s terrible! “Your salary will never make you wealthy” is just as misleading as saying “start a business and you’ll become rich.” If that’s true, why aren’t the millions of business owners around the world wealthy? The reality is only a tiny fraction of businesses ever make their owners wealthy. Most struggle, break even, or fail altogether. Research says over 80% of startups fail terribly and 15% never reach their half life!
The same applies to salaries. Not every employee becomes wealthy, but many do. Senior surgeons, lawyers, investment bankers, airline pilots, nurses, software engineers, CEOs, executives et al have built fortunes from decades of high earnings. In Kenya, people like James Mworia, Peter Ndegwa, Jeremy Awori et al built significant wealth through employment before anything else.
Wealth isn’t determined by whether your income comes from a salary or a business. It’s determined by how much you earn, how much you keep, and what you do with it over time. A business is one path. A high-paying career/job is another. Neither guarantees wealth, and neither guarantees failure. I would advise you guys to push for these MMFs things keyafulii with reality, not motivational speeches picked from the roadsides.
@@KRACare I filed my return yesterday and the tax payable is some 2800/-. When trying to generate Eslip, the tax payable is some 28k. What next for me?
KRA has graduated to your tax accountant,
Courtesy of the Finance Act, 2026.
• Starting in January 2027, it is KRA that shall FIRST tell you, what income it believes you earned in 2026. And what taxes you shall therefore pay.
KRA will do this by generating a pre populated income tax return using the information it already has, such as:
• eTIMS data
• PAYE records
• Withholding tax records
• Plus any other information already in KRA systems
KRA shall then send you this pre-populated return by 31st January 2027.
Once you receive it, you have 2 MONTHS (February and March), and 2 OPTIONS. To either:
• Confirm it. If it is correct. Or,
• Reject & amend it. If KRA got the numbers wrong. And provide your own numbers together with supporting documents.
- If you make your amendments late. Or,
- You do not make any amendments at all,
KRA shall conclude that you have agreed with its assessment, and you shall pay the KRA generated tax bill.
After that, you can use the amended or confirmed return to file your taxes as follows:
• If you are a human being, file by April 30th 2027.
• If you have no flesh & blood (company, partnership, trust, etc), file by June 30th.
(Or the last day of the sixth month after your accounting year ends.)
One more critical mistake to watch.
• Do not assume KRA's numbers are always correct. The law has expressly given you the right to accept or reject the pre-populated return before filing.
Lessons:
• Proper bookkeeping is King in 2026.
• Mark the new tax timelines in your calendar.
Now, reread this slowly.
Nikiwa kwa akina ndoa a few years ago vs me bado nikiwa kwa kina ndoa😂. And YES same marriage.
I didn't run away when it got damn dark. And for those who know him , it's good to note that
" i didn't corrupt myself with good food from the king"
(Daniel 1.18)
Sometimes you both can win.
In two years so much can change .
Keep that hustle on .

Kenyans have come out breathing fire after Andrew Kibe made derogatory remarks about people living with disabilities, using Stivo Simple Boy as an example. According to Andrew Kibe, people born with disabilities shouldn't reproduce because they would pass on what he called abnormal genes.
Without blinking, kibe looked at the Camera with his sanpanku eyes & said people like Stivo simpo boy wanafaa wakatwe makagere to prevent them from producing little pikiins. But the internet was having none of it. People who have seen him upclose reminded him that mirrors exist.
One lady hilariously claimed that if Kibe removes his famous cap, he resembles Stivo Simple Boy more than Stivo Simple Boy himself. Some also said that without his cap & those gogos, Kibe looks like a jaundiced gecko basking in the sun.
Others told him to stop acting like he was personally involved in God's creation process. Kibe was reminded that before roasting someone's appearance, he should first make sure his own reflection isn't preparing a counterattack. Sometimes the mirror has the final word! Kama kawa sisi walala hoii hatuna maoni, Letu Jicho tu.👀
@swahili254@WashiraX@ICPAK_Kenya ICPAK is among the many professional bodies in Kenya which needs to pull up their socks to serve Kenyans. We rarely feel it -I saw major audit bodies being flagged the other day, we have seen firms going under with clean audit reports despite having one audit firm for yrs etc
@swahili254@WashiraX@ICPAK_Kenya No wonder I declined to register as a member. Receiving subscription and annual membership is where they draw the line.
