Some residents of Willow St complain that a horse is habitually turned loose on that street on Sundays and public holidays. It is very much against the eternal fitness of things, in a neat and well ordered town, that horses should be allowed to run loose. Truro May 26 1897
At a recent meeting, Lunenburg declared itself not to be in favor of lighting its streets. It evidently prefers darkness to light. Nearly every town of any importance has its streets lighted with electric light, yet Lunenburg remains in the gloom. Jan 13 1892
John MacDonald, general merchant of Iona, has sent out a very neat Calendar. The centre piece is a fine half tone of the Roman Catholic church at Iona, with the calendar pad of clear cut and showy figures immediately below and panels of tasty floral ornamentation. Dec 27 1906
