This week in Mozambique, I saw the scale of overlapping crises: 1.3M displaced by conflict & extreme weather, with >2 security incidents daily in Cabo Delgado. Aid must go hand in hand with long-term resilience.
In Cabo Delgado, conflict has intensified again.
⚠️ 56,215 people displaced since late July, many in urgent need.
UNHCR leads the protection response: GBV prevention, support for people with disabilities, MHPSS & protection desks—support that helps families start to rebuild.
Recent attacks by armed groups in northern #Mozambique displaced over 46,000 people in July alone, worsening the humanitarian crisis in Cabo Delgado and stretching limited aid resources, @UNOCHA reports.

In April, 14,929 people were displaced in Ancuabe.
Some returned, while others are rebuilding in host areas - like Fatima, who sells tomatoes in Marrokane to support her family of 5.
Today, UNHCR's Representative met families like hers navigating resilience and hope.
In Palma, survivors of GBV are rebuilding their lives through a cooperative selling crafts.
