I am disgusted in #KLM. Booked my flights in Jan. They changed airplanes and deleted my emergency row seats which I paid for. They put me in 46C, at the back, no recline. I am 6 feet 5, 130 kg. There were no legroom seats. I found a seat. BUT IT COST ME R3,000.

Bill Clinton adviser James Carville once quipped that when he died he wanted to come back as the bond market: “That way you can intimidate everybody…” Today is scary short-term, critical in the medium term, and good longer term as GNU does proper checks and balances…
Gaslighting the South African tax payers, because the government has wasted all its tax revenue? They want to institute NHI? But they don’t have money to pay doctors and nurses? The BELA act and we have no money to pay teachers? We are literally broke.WeTell the US we don’t need the AGOA deal we will not be bullied 🙄
SA has a number of wealth taxes - CGT, property transfer duties, estate duties. Worst taxes for emerging mkt economies that are capital deficient. Capital is needed for growth. Like eating seeds - they are anti-growth
It's not just govt that's run out of cash. Most municipalities bankrupt, most SOE's in similar situation. I'm worried we're soon on our way to the IMF for emergency funding. But we all know these loans come with horrific conditions. Painful adjustments ahead?
#OUTA welcomes the appointment of the new @myNSFAS board and wishes them success in their important task. We hope good governance will prevail, and will continue monitoring NSFAS - it is too important for our youth's future to fail. #GoodGovernance#Education#NSFAS
If you only consume media that is focused on your own target group, you will inevitably be alerted by streams of news that serves your particular group. So some believe there is a white genocide because they only consume one stream of news. If news agencies that serve the Afrikaans or white community had to report on every black person that died in this country by violent crime, every day, there would be a completely different picture. Sadly no one would buy the papers, watch the channels or listen to the station. That's on us.
Madiba read 5 newspapers every single day. Because he believed that getting different opinions on any subject matter helps you make decisions from a more informed perspective.
Social media hasn't helped because we all follow people that think like us as opposed to those with a different perspective. Time to open our worlds to get a balanced view. That's of course if you are not only driven by self interest.
I think enough is enough. There is another option, bever talked about. Hermany, France, Poland enter Ukraine overnight as their guests. They take air control by destroying planes an runways inside Russia. Their troops enter and fight alongside Ukraine to drive Putin back to 2014.
It’s extremely odd to lecture Europe on the subject of free speech and democracy at the same time as [the US is] cuddling Putin. In Mr. Putin’s Russia, people who disagree with him disappear, or die, or flee the country, or — on a statistically unlikely level — fall out of high windows somewhere in Moscow.

Why don’t Canada think pro-actively. Raise your prices of oil exports to the US by 10% or 20%. Then you get the extra money and not Trump. He can put a tariff on, but you have achieved his bullshit tariff effect for him. And why not do that for all exports to the US?

There is a substantial divergence in the reaction to the Trump #tariffs.
Mexico sent troops to the border and got its tariffs delayed by a month, opening room for negotiation.
Panama quit its deal with China.
Canada, like a school teacher, reminded the US of the past and put together (some) tariff response.
Eurozone: Apparently, it is still looking at some 'compass,' hoping it will all be fine.
To be clear, Trump's actions will hurt US consumers and the US economy, which must be offset by 'victories' like those in Mexico and Panama.
One may argue that these countries 'caved,' but is clinging to your ideologist and assumed superior views while your competitiveness dwindles really any better?

Misrepresenting the policies in our country and lobbying for South Africa to be pushed out of AGOA is not good for anyone. We will all lose if we continue that path.
This is a wonderful tribute to William Wallace; the only problem is, in reality, it is being quacked by Donald Duck, to Huey, Dewey and Louie, as they try to stop the tide washing over their sandcastle, replete with all those cartoon shenanigans of old. https://t.co/z7k0mkxN1R
