This is very sad to watch.
But I do not blame the NPP communicator or his ignorance. I have encountered many Ashanti friends with similar mindsets, especially back in high school.
Even in tertiary, a friend once said Otumfuo Osei Tutu II is more powerful than the President. No matter how hard we explained to him, he remained unconvinced. But in Level 400, he finally accepted that no chief can be more powerful than the President. Education is indeed the best antidote to ignorance.
So I blame all of us for not teaching our history enough. The average Ghanaian knows very little about the Gold Coast or the migration history of our various tribes.
For instance, the Gold Coast Colony establishment was established on 24th July 1874, and later, the Ashanti Region Crown Colony and the Northern Territories Protectorate were joined to it on 1st January 1902. That alone shows how layered our history is.
The Ashantis migrated from Mali during the Arab invasion, settled in the Bono Region before establishing themselves where they are today.
And beyond that, many do not know that the Guan people are the first settlers of the land.
The point is simple: until we take our history seriously, ignorance will keep shaping conversations that should otherwise be informed.
Say no to tribalism.
President John Mahama hosts two great events in New York tomorrow ahead of his consequential UN Resolution seeking to declare the transatlantic slave trade as the gravest crime against humanity and to demand reparatory justice.
Africa, people of African descent and all people with good conscience shall be victorious on 25th March, 2026.
President Mahama says the Ghana Prisons Service is being supported to undertake large-scale farming, including poultry and vegetable production.
Speaking at the commissioning of the Damongo Prison Camp, he said that the government will provide fertilizers and mechanized equipment to enhance productivity over the next three years.

Where do I start and to whom do I turn? Everyone else is distraught and in despair? How does such tragedy befall a man so calm and warm? How do you leave me and the squad like this? The tears flow even when I try to compose myself. Composure is a distant reality for me as the pain I feel cannot be expressed fully.
Kofi, why? How? This is not what we agreed!
You always asked me who would take care of your Mum if anything were to ever happen to you. What did you know that you had from me? Rita and the kids? Who can be there for them like you? Oh why?
No one has been of greater help or support to me in my political career. I call you Boss and you call me Bro. You didn't just care about my politics, you cared and loved my family. You chose the school for my kids and even ask me every term about their performance. You were not a Colleague, you were the elder brother I didn't have.
You would call me and admonish me when you saw a social media post of mine. Who would guide me now? You have been my compass and guiding light these past 7 months since I was appointed Minister. Preparing me for Cabinet and showing me the ropes. Who do I turn to now?
My faith is shaken. My belief is gone. We are told to give thanks in all things. How can I give thanks in this? How do I say it is well? It is certainly not well! I have questions to ask God. Very serious questions. How does this happen?
Kofi Omane Boamah, wake up and tell me to activate all body cameras. Call me and say Dzata, you have done your thing again. Just pick your call, Boss. Please! 😭😭😭
The Cedi's recent appreciation is due to a convergence of favorable global conditions and Ghana’s disciplined internal economic policies.

The sovereignty of God will bring people into your life who are instrumental to your destiny, that will help make things happen that you couldn’t make happen. You couldn’t plan or manipulate it. This is God doing what only He can do.
