All you have to do is participate or encourage those you'd prefer to take positions in the @NRMOnline village committees to participate. Youths usually meet such events and prefer noise and kavuyo. In-party activities are quiet and steady. See you in 2030.
@AndrewMwenda@mkainerugaba Dear our PO 002 @AndrewMwenda , we have taken this matter very seriously 😐.
However, it’s time to organize our @NRMOnline party register especially at village level. It’s captured by a certain group of the so called Historicals who think they own them
Parenting is interesting. You start the family as young people, living together as a couple and in few years, you again live alone together as old people. The children get bored living in the same house for 20 years, your food becomes unpalatable, you ask every friend they bring at home who their parents are & where they live, & can’t stand you asking them where your phone is when it’s actually in your hands. What do we do with these 6 bedroom houses?
Anti young ladies life to us bodabodas for every delivery or pickup, office seats and cars to and fro everything increase your chances of undergoing cesarean births. You need to walk some distance everyday. And, stop kyejo in the labour ward, it confuses midwives.
Hon. I keep wondering what the other ministers are doing in their departments. Most of this corruption filth cuts across different Ministries but goes unnoticed.
I don't mind you being fronted, but let all ministers do their fair share. Fighting corruption should be collective.
This evening, I updated the whole House on the progress made so far in our efforts to eliminate corruption in Local Government.
I thank the Rt. Hon. Speaker @ObothOboth for giving me the opportunity to present, and I sincerely appreciate all Members of Parliament, both NRM and Opposition, for their guidance, valuable input and overwhelming support for this campaign.
I am particularly excited that this has become a unifying campaign bringing Ugandans together regardless of political party affiliation. The fight against corruption is a fight for all of us not for Mr President @KagutaMuseveni , General @mkainerugaba or myself , because every Ugandan deserves accountable leadership and better service delivery.
Together, we can build a cleaner, more accountable and more effective Local Government system.
God bless Uganda.
I’m African and to be honest this is exactly what I’ve seen back home. Most nurses don’t have much empathy ,it’s just a job to get money, not a calling or passion.
A lot of Africans target nursing in Europe because the jobs are needed, easy to get, and pay well compared to back home. You can send good money home. That’s fine, but for most it’s survival, not because they love the work.
As for the language, most Africans actually speak English really well because that’s what we study from school. So the NHS still has to answer why they hire people who can’t communicate properly. Passion and real kindness are rare ,for many it’s just about the money.
@kutegyekaivan1 I know how tense the tender process can be, especially when you're desperate to get the job. However, if it's being desperate that leads you to bribe, do it within your margin and not at the expense of the job. Besides, bribing is no excuse for a shoddy job. Play your cards right
Still, I blame investors who have not used effectively available avenues to protect their investments like State House Investors Protection Unit. A contractor who secures a contract through bribery should be arrested and blacklisted. These are the people facilitating corruption.
WHEN GETTING TENDERS THEY ASK US FOR A LOT OF KICKBACKS, NOW THEY ARE TURNING AGAINST US
Today i asked a Chinese contractor why some projects are delayed & why they do shoddy work, his response was; when getting tenders they ask us for a lot of kickbacks, now they are turning against us due to a lot of pressure from government, to me, the young man the Hon Minister @HonByamukama is doing a good job but if the fight against corruption ends with contractors alone, it won’t go far enough
he should also follow up on the Ministry of Works @MoWT_Uganda officials & the key tender decision makers who allegedly demand huge kickbacks before awarding contracts, otherwise a new minister may only trim the branches while leaving the roots untouched
if we are serious about fighting corruption, we must cut off its oxygen until it has no room left to breathe

@cynthiechoco International diplomacy goes deeper than an ordinary Ugandan's thoughts. I truly understand your position, but think bigger... Be the fish that thinks beyond the waters you swim in.
What a life!
For as long as God permits and the opportunity to serve remains, keep going in the right direction because Ugandans appreciate your commitment and determination to expose the corrupt and ensure better service delivery for all.
On Tuesday next week, I will be in Mbarara City to assess the impact of Government programs and, where necessary, expose corruption to ensure public resources serve the people.
Mbarara holds a special place in my heart because it is where I was born on the morning of 28th July 1979 at Mbarara Hospital. My mother, Brown Abwooli Nante Byenkya, was heavily pregnant when she and my late father, Akiiki Davidson Balaam Byenkya, a Civil Engineering graduate of the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, were driven from Karamoja to Mbarara on the poor roads of that time after the then regime arrested my father.
My father had been working in Karamoja on British Aid-funded water dam and road projects when he was accused of supporting the then little-known Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, who was in the process of organizing and registering the Uganda Patriotic Movement (UPM), a political party that was officially launched in June 1980 ahead of the presidential elections. They were taken to Makenke Barracks, and it was during those difficult circumstances that I was born “ Barugahare” due to the hardships and long journey my parents endured.
Those experiences gave me a lifelong attachment to both Mbarara and Karamoja and continue to inspire my commitment to justice, accountability, and selfless service to our people.
I invite all residents of Mbarara City to join me for a public Baraza on Tuesday at Mayor’s Park, starting at 4:00 p.m. until late. Come and share your views on service delivery, report corruption, and engage with us as we work together to improve governance and strengthen accountability.
Barugahara Balaam Ateenyi
Minister of Local Government
I'd like to request @GovUganda to consider or account for all losses @UmemeLtd brought to Ugandans over the years. They cheated us with impunity. E.g I registered and paid to get power to my home with 3-5 accounts but served. Not money was ever returned. No statement made.
Can you imagine that 75 billion shillings was allocated to Rwaboogo and his clique to teach Ugandans how to drink coffee. I know the President does not want public discussion about members of his family. But we must be allowed to speak about those whose actions tarnish the name of the President and the NRM. Rwaboogo himself encouraged us to speak out. So let us speak. I have only one SON.
The easiest RETIREMENT PLAN and INHERITANCE for you and your children is COFFEE. Buy a fair piece of land, plant coffee or prune old trees, fertilise and wait for your bountiful harvest. With a little care and discipline, the old and children can happily survive on coffee.
This is a fair demand.
It's sad that most districts overwhelmed by corruption in Buganda are opposition led, and no body is saying anything or we'll assume they're accomplices.
I'd like to see more @NRMOnline ministers doing field visits and visual audits for works.
Can we see some opposition MPs working like Hon. Justine Nameere and Hon Balaam . Otherwise, these NRM ministers are making the opposition look like they’re not working. My two cents
So you mean schools earning as much as 1.2Billion annually can't afford underpaid staff on the same amount? We need to audit their expenses. Besides, if you don't have the capability to perform your duties, resign!
I encourage all head teachers to relax & stop employing private teachers, just do wat u can
Hon @BalaamBarugahar stated that schools such as Nkoma Secondary School in Mbale receive over 1.2 billion annually, he also noted that government allocates over 30 teaching staff & non teaching staff
the reality on the ground is different, many schools are severely understaffed despite having large student populations, that’s is why PTAs have been forced to raise funds to hire additional teachers so learners can receive enough lessons, those PTA funded teachers also conduct preps, evening classes & weekend lessons, helping government schools compete with private schools
however, if the directive is to stop employing private teachers & other non teaching staff then head teachers should simply comply, if a school has only 13 or 20 teachers available, let those teachers teach wat they can, if there are only 2 non teaching staff, let those 2 provide security, cook, clean & handle all other support services,
incase u feel there is misuse of funds why don’t u bring auditors to do internal audits of schools & arrest corrupt head teachers instead of trying to lead to total collapse of schools
after all, why should head teachers go against the directives of government officials? let the results speak for themselves in the coming years
I don't see South Africa anywhere. This is corruption! Uganda should not be involved in any list of unstable countries. Uganda is a stable country both politically and economically. All sectors are thriving and both tourists and investors are welcome.
