Thank you @lsusoftball for a great camp!! LSU is so cool! Even the rain didn’t matter. Coach Torina showed me different grips for pitches and made experimenting really fun, even if it didn’t initially work out. Coach Bryce and Coach Sandra are awesome. I learned so much from all the coaches and players. Also I got to see my LTG Sister, @samalekman and meet @paytn_monticelli 🔥🔥🥎

Knocked out of the tourney early, but we made good adjustments throughout each game and fought till the last out. Here are some of my highlights. Thanks for watching.

Training Session: Proprioception/Motor-Patterning.

(Coach Dad) Motor-Patterning is a concept I learned from the late Bishop Dolegiewicz, a Canadian Olympic shot putter:

It’s fairly common for an athlete to unknowingly introduce a wanky little tweak into their mechanics from time to time. It could be with their arm circle or their launch. It happens even with elite, Olympic-level athletes.

I try to mitigate these occurrences by having Isla break down her pitching motion into segments. Crazii Paisleys @paisleypitching weighted balls are a great tool for improving the mind/body connection as you move through segments of the arm circle. @THEWOWSB @BethTorina @UACoachMurphy @GassoPatty @LineDsoftball

A little late posting my Rapsodo numbers from a few months ago, but pretty excited to hit a new PR at 67.51!

FB: 67.51 — PR 🔥
Drop: 65.79
Rise: 67.44 — PR
Change: 51.20

Definitely some good things to take away, but also some things to work on. My rise has always been one of my better pitches, but it hasn’t felt quite right lately. The spin numbers showed there’s definitely some work to do there.

Happy with the progress. Back to work! 💪🏾

Session goal: 1. Deadening my change-up. 2. Backing off the speed and feeling what’s happening during each phase of a pitch. Coach Dad is big on nervous system training. I’m still learning about motor patterning and proprioception training. BP session added.
