I had the pleasure of opening the new @NLondonHospice charity shop on Upper Street, a brilliant space supporting the charity's work in end-of-life care.
I also attended the Brunswick Court Garden summer party, a beautiful afternoon filled with music, greenery, and a strong sense of local pride. Moments like these remind me why I love this borough - We are vibrant, diverse, and full of heart.
Weekend Reflections!
What a joyful weekend in Islington! I had the pleasure of attending the Whitecross Street Party, a fantastic celebration of art, culture, and community spirit. The atmosphere was electric, in true Islington style.
Representing Islington at the 20th anniversary Commemoration Service of the London Bombings at St Paul’s Cathedral. A solemn reminder of the lives lost and the pain endured. In the face of hate, we choose love. We stand for peace, unity and resilience.
Just attended the celebration of Bernard Adventure Playground's 50th anniversary. This cherished space has welcomed generations of Islington children to play. It was great to meet families, the awesome play workers, and local Barnsbury ward councillors supporting the space. 🎉
It was an honour to attend the celebration of @TheParentHouse's 25th anniversary. This remarkable organisation does transformative work with families in Islington. Here’s to the next 25 years of empowering parents and building community!
As Pride Month 2025 draws to a close forum+ would like to thank everyone who joined with us.
So many meaningful connections & special memories have been made as we cooked, kayaked, created & celebrated #PrideMonth together across Camden & Islington🏳️🌈🎉

This week, local councillors and partners joined St Mungo’s to celebrate the major refurbishment of one of our care homes, completed by volunteers from @MaceGroup and @MaceFoundation.
"This is not just a beautiful building but a home for our residents. Mace’s generous refurbishment has helped make it even more comfortable and welcoming for them." - Emma Haddad, CEO

An evening of food, community, and celebration at St Luke’s with @forumplus and @stlukestrust. Sharing stories over sushi, soup and solidarity. 🥢🍜 https://t.co/LZbPQHVdOx
This morning, I had the pleasure of joining Duncombe Primary’s Fathers and Male Carers Coffee Morning. As a father, it meant a lot to connect with others navigating fatherhood in Islington. Let’s keep building spaces where men can talk, share, and feel supported.
Today at the Jean Stokes Community Centre we marked #WindrushDay with a powerful celebration of kinship culture and care. We honoured the Windrush Generation and the legacy of kinship care in Afro-Caribbean families past and present.
Yes, I did jump in to dance too 😁🖤
It was great to be at the Big Day Out in Whittington Park today. It was brilliant to see so many local groups, stalls, and families enjoying the sunshine. I even jumped in for a quick game of table tennis! It is wonderful to have this much-loved community event back this year. https://t.co/RhzEZLJ6Ym
