@mana_sean we found our dad dead in feb of this year. It gets easier, you just have to let time do it’s thing. As much as you don’t want it to, I felt so much guilt and pain, I still do now. But, we have to give ourselves time to heal. Keep your chin up.
Sorry I haven’t posted much at all recently! After suffering the sudden loss of my dad in feb I’ve been trying to properly come to terms with it all along with working and being a dad. The worst feeling im having at the moment is the feeling of guilt. Anybody else had this?!
@realteaplease We have no choice but to carry on even when we don’t feel like we want to do we mate. But we find the strength from somewhere and it so it for the ones we have lost! 💙
Been a rough road, my dad was my best mate, life goes on I understand that but trying to accept it is the hardest part of grief. I’ll never accept it, I’ll never understand but I will keep living.
Just after my dad passed away in feb I whacked loads of weight on and was smoking like, 20 a day easily. I’ve kicked the fags and managed over 35 miles in running last week. The difference in a healthy mind is crazy to the body. Starting to feel okay about life again.
Sorry I’ve been so quiet... the last few months have been so rough, I lost my dad suddenly and out of the blue in feb so it’s been a long road to try and get back to feeling happy. Tomorrow’s always a brand new day!
@AmyLouise199503 Try put something in tele or listen to some music, read a book with a nice warm drink and try to relax, just think about the now rather than tomorrow and chill for the rest of the night x
@AmyLouise199503 I can definitely relate. I’ve felt fine and been doing well for a while, new job etc but then one little hiccup and your mind never switches off. It’s hard to see the positives when your head is filled with clouds
@AmyLouise199503 100% feel your pain at the min Amy. Trying to balance normal life and our emotions is the hardest thing ever. One minute we can be fine and the next feeling down strikes from nowhere. I had an anxiety attack (big one) on Friday night, tomorrow’s a brand new day
People who don’t struggle think it’s easy to switch our emotions on and off. So far from reality, a lot of people think I’m doing a great job with everything I do or have done but they don’t see me at my worst and that’s what I need to sort out. Life is complicated sometimes!
But, I have a lot to look forward to going forward. I think the hardest part about everything is finding the balance with normalising life and feeling so down at times and so many people will relate. I think, that’s the hardest part about struggling with mental health.
I find it hard to fit in, I find it hard to trust & I find it hard to develop as I’m my own biggest critic. But my past hasn’t helped at all. I still have days where I struggle so much, I had a huge anxiety attack in my kitchen Friday night. I’m dreading certain things atm.
Only this week i sat and discussed why I feel trusting is so hard... in my old job, my boss would say some horrible things... jibes at weight, spoke to me with no respect whatsoever and I just put up with it... speaking about it I genuinely nearly balled my eyes out.
Even the people you look up to, speak to and vent your frustrations to struggle. I run mental health groups, speak to people and help people fulltime and I had a anxiety attack on Friday night. Shows we’re all only human.
It’s crazy to think how far I’ve come but my life lessons are still important to keep relevant to learn off in the future. Your problems and thoughts still never go away but your life will always go on, time waits for no one. You have to give yourself your absolute all 💙
I’m quite honest and open with how I’ve felt and dealt with things in the past, today I looked back and read through a few things... made me feel crap but at the same time relieved that so much has changed. I’m a better person for a lot of the stuff I’ve done, but it still hurts
This time last year I was feeling lowest of the low, took a job for the sake of it hated who I was. I was in a dark place. Now, I’m a social prescriber working for the NHS helping others after changing my career completely. I’m so proud of myself & proud of how far I’ve come 🙌🏼💙
I am running a full marathon on Sat 1st May 2021 in aid of @BreastCancerNow due to my mum being diagnosed with breast cancer at the start of last year. She is currently going through chemo and will soon be doing radiotherapy. Here is the link please share
