Fantastic to celebrate the launch of the Local Power Plan with Ed Miliband MP, Mayor Sadiq Khan and Mayor Caroline Woodley together with the community energy sector.
What began with a handful of pioneering communities is now a central part of Britain’s energy future. This is just the beginning ⚡️
We need to set up the next generation with a knowledge of co-operatives so they can build the stronger, fairer, and greener economy of the future.
@Gareth_Snell makes the case for co-operatives on the curriculum.
A rich and diverse co-operative and mutuals sector means more productive, more resilient, and more equal growth for the UK economy.
That’s why the Government has asked regulators to report to parliament on the work they do to support the sector.
Watch @FloEshalomi and @TulipSiddiq discuss the Treasury's commitments.
NEW: we have been shortlisted for Community Energy Campaigning Organisation of the Year by @comm1nrg at the #CEAwards2024
We’re proud that our members played a key role in promoting the Local Power Plan, which will see the largest ever government investment in community energy.
It's great that today's budget contained measures and plans to; tackle retail crime, grow co-operatives, support clean community owned energy, better support employee ownership and extend the Household Support Fund. All things the @coopparty have long championed.
Our fringe events may be over but co-operators will still be speaking throughout Labour conference.
Whether you couldn't make it or if you just want more co-operative action, we're holding a Co-operative Change Showcase on the 12th of October, and we'd love to see you there.
✅ Today as one of the first acts of a Labour and Co-operative Government, the ban on onshore wind has been lifted!
Onshore wind is an important part of our plans for Community Energy.
We're delivering on our commitment to Co-operative Change.
Anneliese Dodds MP @AnnelieseDodds has been appointed Minister of State in the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office @FCDOGovUK.
She has also been appointed Minister for Women and Equalities in the Department for Education @educationgovuk.
She will attend Cabinet.

This business's work is rubbish. 😉
@alexsobel visits @ReviveLeeds, a social enterprise that stops the shop-to-landfill pipeline and gives new life to old goods.
Business with a purpose is an essential part of Labour and Co-operative plans to support diverse business models.
When communities lose their local assets, they lose a brilliant place for people to meet and communities to thrive.
We met up with @Kate_Dearden on the campaign trail, and she backs our Community Right to Buy to end the closures and keep community assets in community hands.
Our community assets are the crown jewels of high streets up and down the country.
That's why Labour and Co-operative candidates like Paul Richards are backing a Community Right to Buy, to stop their closures and keep our town centres vibrant.
