$SPCX hasn't seen a prior bar high break since Day 4 in the Sequential 9 series move down. However, it didn't close above. A close above 125.70 today would be more meaningful for it.
Reclaiming the low and high of that Sequential 9 from 7/16 would be the best and perhaps get some short covering accelerating to create some equilibrium down here as it heads towards earnings.
Trading in the Zone came up yesterday morning, so it made for a great moment to review some notes on it.
@ZLucido made a great 11 page summary back in 2014 and these are just a few of the quotes contained therein.
"When you learn the trading skill of risk acceptance, the market will not be able to generate information
that you define or interpret as painful." - Mark Douglas
Acquire mental structure to trade without fear and at the same time keep from becoming reckless and
committing fear based errors.
Successful traders have eliminated the effects of fear and recklessness from their trading.
The consistency you seek is in your mind, not in the markets. It's the attitudes and beliefs about being
wrong, losing money, and the tendency to become reckless, when you're feeling good, that cause most
losses, not technique or market knowledge.
The best traders stay in the flow because they aren't trying to get anything from the market. They simply
make themselves available so they can take advantage of whatever the market is offering.
The threat of pain generates fear, and fear is the source of 95% of the errors you will make.
Learn to accept & then embrace the Risk.
Accepting risk means accepting the consequences of your trades without emotional discomfort or fear.
The possibility of being wrong, losing, missing out or leaving money on the table can't cause your mental
defense mechanisms to kick in and take you out of the opportunity flow.
Know the source of the threat, it is NOT the market. The market generates information about its potential
to move from a neutral perspective. If what you perceive at any given moment causes you to feel fear ask
yourself is the information inherently threatening or are you simply experiencing the effect of your own
state of mind reflected back on you.
The best traders believe without a shred of doubt that "anything can happen". They don't just suspect that
anything can happen or give lip service to the idea.
With the perspective of making yourself available you know your edge places the odds of success in your
favor, but you completely accept that you don't know the outcome of any particular trade. You open up to
finding out what will happen next; instead of giving way to an automatic mental process that causes you
to think you already know. This perspective leaves your mind free of internal resistance that can prevent
you from perceiving whatever opportunity the market is making available from its perspective (the only
truth).
Success as a trader cannot be realized until you develop a resolute, unshakeable belief in uncertainty.
This is a great opportunity!!!
