Then two things start eating the position: volatility drag, which is just math, and financing drag, which is the cost of the capital behind the exposure.

@2FactorFinance is trying to build leverage that survives that horizon. The mechanism is volatility-specific, not Bitcoin-specific. It splits an asset’s volatility into two perpetual tranches: a senior with deep downside protection, and a leveraged junior with no liquidation and no outside hedging counterparty. The junior pays a premium for that structure. Conventional leverage is priced against shorts. This is priced against the cost of stable funding.

The usable multiple depends on the asset’s drift and vol. At Bitcoin vol near 60%, the band closes early; research puts the junior near 1.33x, which is why 2x and 3x BTC products decay over long holds. At equity vol near 16–19%, the band stretches past 3x. Published figures sit around 2.35x for gold and 2.1x for the S&P 500. Bitcoin is the hard case they are proving on testnet, not the easy one.
