In another milestone for rural development, the Rwanga Foundation has brought clean energy to Ziarat village, powering more than 100 homes along with the local mosque, health clinic, and community center.

What began as a pilot has grown into a national energy program, ready to be scaled across the Kurdistan Region and Iraq. The initiative reflects the vision of Rwanga’s founder, Idris Nechirvan Barzani, to empower rural communities to become self-sufficient and sustainable.

ئەم هەنگاوە لە چوارچێوەی دیدی بەڕێز (ادریس نێچیرڤان بارزانی) سەرۆک و دامەزرێنەری دەزگای روانگە بەردەوام دەبێت بۆ پاڵپشتیکردنی گوندنشینان و پاراستنی ژینگە لەڕێگەی وزەی نوێبووەوە.

Rwanga Foundation Completes Sustainable Solar Energy Project

Today, in the presence of “Rawan Idris Barzani”. The Commander of the Halo Special Division, the Governor of Erbil, senior officials, and the esteemed residents of Ziarat village, along with the Rwanga Foundation, completed a major solar electrification project. This initiative provides reliable, eco-friendly electricity to 100 homes, the mosque, the health center, and the community hall.

This initiative continues within the framework of the vision of “Idris Nechirvan Barzani”, President and Founder of Rwanga Foundation, to support rural communities and protect the environment through renewable energy.

مؤسسة روانگه تُنجز مشروع الطاقة الشمسية المستدامة

بحضور السيد (روان إدريس بارزاني)، قائد فرقة هەلو الخاصة، ومحافظ أربيل، وعدد من المسؤولين، إلى جانب أهالي قرية زيارت، أنجزت مؤسسة روانگه مشروعًا متكاملًا لتزويد القرية بالطاقة الشمسية المستدامة.

کما يوفر المشروع كهرباء مستقرة لـ100 منزل، إضافةً إلى مسجد، ومركز الصحي، وقاعة مناسبات في خطوة تسهم في تحسين مستوى الخدمات وتعزيز الاعتماد على مصادر الطاقة المتجددة الصديقة للبيئة.

ويأتي هذا المشروع ضمن رؤية السيد (إدريس نيجيرفان بارزاني)، رئيس ومؤسس مؤسسة روانگه، الهادفة إلى دعم المجتمعات الريفية، وتعزيز التنمية المستدامة، وحماية البيئة من خلال الاستثمار في حلول الطاقة المتجددة.

Rwanga Foundation Conducts "Creative Studio" Training for Halabja Youth

Intending to develop their capabilities and prepare youth for the job market, Rwanga Foundation's Halabja Office conducted a three-day training course, combining both practical and theoretical approaches titled "Creative Studio".
The course was held for 15 enthusiastic young people interested in the field of commercial advertisement creation, empowering them to secure better career opportunities through learning new techniques.

The University of Kurdistan Hewlêr (UKH), in collaboration with Vanest and Medit company , organised the Fifth Digital Dentistry Scientific Meeting.
The event brought together professors, dentists, students, and representatives of dental companies from across the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.

The programme featured a number of scientific presentations addressing the challenges facing the field of dentistry, as well as the opportunities and advancements that technology has introduced to the profession.

The meeting concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, allowing participants to discuss the topics presented and receive further insights from the speakers.

The aim of the Digital Dentistry Scientific Meeting was to support public health by promoting the exchange of ideas and experiences, while encouraging discussion on the challenges and scientific and practical solutions within the field of dentistry.

The UKH Alumni Association organised “Bringing You Back Home”, a special reunion event for graduates from the classes of 2019–2025. The event brought together alumni and former academic staff for an evening of celebration and reconnection, featuring alumni photo displays, live music, personal stories from graduates, and a fireworks display.

The reunion aimed to renew and strengthen the bonds between alumni and the University, while providing an opportunity for graduates to reconnect with former classmates and lecturers. It also created a warm and welcoming atmosphere for alumni to return to the place where they built lasting friendships, developed their skills and knowledge, and began their professional journeys.

Speaking on Sunday at the graduation ceremony of 210 officers from a federal military academy in Sulaimani province, Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani congratulated the graduates and said he was proud of them.

He renewed his call for the Kurdistan Region’s political parties to unite, describing such unity as a “great power” for the Region.

In the presence of Mr. Sidad Barzani, representative of President @Masoud_Barzani, and Idris Nechirvan Barzani, President and Founder of the @RwangaFdn, the Foundation unveiled a statue of the historic French leader General Charles de Gaulle.

The ceremony, held in partnership with the French Consulate General and the French Institute in Erbil, was attended by the Consuls General of several countries in the Kurdistan Region, alongside political party representatives, government officials, and other prominent figures.

Today, the @IKRPresident, U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Syria and Iraq Tom Barrack, and the Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) @MazloumAbdi are scheduled to meet.

🔻 The talks will address the latest developments in Syria and assess the future of previously reached agreements. Discussions are expected to focus on ongoing efforts concerning Syria and the SDF, as well as the implementation of earlier understandings between Kurdish representatives, Damascus, and international stakeholders.

Kurdish leaders across the region pay tribute to renowned journalist Halkawt Aziz.

Commander Rawan Barzani and Idris Nechirvan Barzani attended the funeral service of the late Halkawt Aziz, the renowned Kurdish journalist and Chief of the Baghdad Bureau for the Rudaw Media Network, who tragically lost his life in a road traffic accident.

Widely respected for his professionalism, integrity, and dedication to journalism, Aziz was a prominent voice in Kurdish media for many years. Through his reporting, he helped shape public understanding of key political and social developments in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.

His passing has prompted an outpouring of tributes from Kurdish leaders, journalists, and public figures across the region. Aziz is remembered not only for his distinguished career in journalism, but also for his commitment to truth, public service, and the highest standards of the profession.

Rwanga Foundation Launches the First Phase of the Vocational Training Program

Rwanga Foundation has officially launched the first phase of its vocational training project across the cities of Erbil, Duhok, Sulaymaniyah, and Nineveh. In this initial phase, 150 out of a total of 600 young men and women "representing host communities, IDPs, refugees, and returnees" have commenced a 45-day practical training program.

The training sessions cover several essential and modern fields, including solar energy, mechanics, marketing, sewing and tailoring, Information Technology (IT), and various other disciplines.
This initiative is part of the PROSPECTS project, financially supported by the Government of the Netherlands. It is implemented by the International Labour Organization (ILO) in partnership with the Rwanga Foundation, and in coordination with the Directorate General of Labour and Social Affairs (DoLSA).

مؤسسة روانگه تطلق المرحلة الأولى من برنامج التدريب المهني

أطلقت مؤسسة روانگه المرحلة الأولى من مشروع التدريب المهني في محافظات أربيل ودهوك والسليمانية ونينوى، حيث باشر ١٥٠ شاباً وشابة من أصل ٦٠٠ مستف��د ومستفيدة، يمثلون المجت��عات المضيفة والنازحين واللاجئين والعائدين، برنامجاً تدريبياً عملياً يمتد لمدة ٤٥ يوماً.

ويتضمن البرنامج مجموعة من التخصصات المهنية الحديثة والمطلوبة في سوق العمل، من بينها الطاقة الشمسية، والميكانيك، والتسويق، والخياطة والتفصيل، وتكنولوجيا المعلومات (IT)، إلى جانب عدد من المجالات الأخرى التي تهدف إلى تعزيز المهارات المهنية ورفع فرص التوظيف لدى المشاركين.

ويأتي هذا المشروع ضمن برنامج PROSPECTS، الممول من حكومة هولندا، والمنفذ من قبل International Labour Organization بالشراكة مع مؤسسة روانگه، وبالتنسيق مع المديرية العامة للعمل والشؤون الاجتماعية (DoLSA)، وذلك في إطار دعم ��لشباب وتمكينهم اقتصادياً وتعزيز فرص اندماجهم في سوق العمل.
