A moment this small used to disappear inside a four-hour stream. Now it gets pulled out within hours.

> Then accounts that have never met him repost it, each with its own caption, and whichever one makes the comments fight the hardest wins.

That is clipping, and plenty of big streamers now run it on purpose. Open programs pay anyone a few dollars per thousand views their clips pull in. The streamer gets reach he never filmed for. The clippers get paid by the view.

And the part that actually makes you stop scrolling, the caption, is usually written by a stranger who was never on the boat.
