What concerns me about the #HenryNowak footage is straightforward: a vulnerable young man showing signs of medical distress, and a lack of proper recognition and response by #Police. Accountability should be based on facts, evidence, and a duty of care, not political narratives.

People talk about how this is a risky move for Andy. In fact, Burnam doesn’t have to resign as #MayorGM until he takes up his seat as an MP, so he’s in a win-win situation. If he loses the election, he stays Mayor. If he wins, he becomes an MP. #Makerfield #ByElection #Politics

The #Makerfield by-election will cost ~£226k. If Burnam wins, he would then need to resign as #MayorofGM triggering a mayoral by-election that could cost taxpayers around £4.7 million. Time and again, political decisions are made that come with a real cost to local people.
