There seems to be an unclear distinction between traditional bullying and cyber bullying. There needs to be more programs that address cyberbullying specifically. #CTL1617#PLN

@mspatriciacosta I think building positive relationships with students really reflects in the classroom management aspect and also in their motivation to learn. In order to receive respect, students have to also feel valued and respected.
@BriannaTan726 It is interesting because during my practicum I have heard the opposite too that pairing stronger students with weaker students can be beneficial as the weaker students can learn better.
@n_rangel_ I completely agree! There is no one size fits all approach for teaching, we have to be adaptable and understanding of the different needs in the classroom.
Teachers' mental health become greatly impacted when striving for perfection. As educators, we have to accept the reality that mistakes can happen and accept the messiness that can occur. Sometimes no matter how much planning was done, surprises can occur.
The insidious internal drive for perfection, especially in the early years of teaching, is a recipe for frustration and burnout. Hereโs how to embrace the messiness of learning.

A useful resource that was shared with me is Classroom screen. It can be used as a timer for kids to keep in check how much time they have. Also it can be used to let them know what to be working on, as a good classroom management tactic. #PLN#ctl1617

@ArunaBhalla99 I completely agree Aruna! By having a structure in the class it can also help with classroom management to maintain a level of control and help students perform better.
Students need strategies to help them be grounded. Often, embedding these strategies into the classroom is a step by step process. It is important to make it a practice so students feel comfortable turning to them. #PLN#ctl1617

Breathing exercises, gratitude journaling, and meditating are all powerful ways we can use our nervous system to ground ourselves in the present moment so we can be there for our students! #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth https://t.co/sIfJY75M7c
As a teacher, I believe it is very important to incorporate a variety of learning activities (hands-on activities, independent work, group work, etc.) in the classroom, to be inclusive of different type of learners and also to promote engagement. #PLN#ctl1617
