I’m looking to hire an Executive Assistant with whom I’ll work closely in my role at @fijnigeria.
This is not your everyday employment opportunity; therefore, I’ll be telling you why this is not your ideal job – not why it is!
I am a newsroom manager; my EA must not necessarily be a media aficionado, but they cannot be uninterested in the media, regardless of their academic discipline.
I run a social justice outfit; my EA cannot be content with going through life without a care for the common man, social change or the public interest. It’s the soul of the work.
I travel a lot, usually across multiple time zones. My EA will sometimes be required to adjust their work hours accordingly. Not as easy as it sounds and that’s why I warned it’s not the ideal job.
I am a wanted man. I step on toes for a living, meaning I’m daily looking over my shoulders. I am in the authorities’ bad books. I step out every morning knowing my night might be in a police or military cell. Or not. Therefore, my EA cannot be fearful or timid or averse to ‘good trouble’.
Finally, I am an investigative journalist who chases the most difficult field stories. My EA must have a liking for solving complex problems, must detest the easy way out of them, and must relish working under high-stakes pressure.
There will be a couple of personal matters to handle for me; my EA must understand and value privacy. This is a high-trust role.
If you’re on the lookout for an atypical job as above, please shoot me a one-to-two-minute video detailing why you’re the one for me. Please attach your CV too. A cover letter is unnecessary. The email to use is [email protected].
Deadline: Monday April 28.
Remuneration: Let’s discuss; I just might be able to pay you your dream salary.
Other perks: Paid annual leave, health insurance, pension, periodic salary raises, travel, HNW contacts and general growth.
The word fact-checker is a slur now. Because the people fighting for our absolute right to expression are the guardians of truth. They want to spread their seeds of truthful hate & truthful propaganda without getting challenged. Or better still, because the truth does not matter.
@OluwamayowaTJ They come into office to fatten their pockets, kill generational sapa by setting up their families, and fumble through governance. That's what hurts Nigerians
.@Its_Oluseyi explains that for the ECOWAS single currency (ECO) to be established, member countries must align their economic indicators, such as inflation rates, debt levels, and foreign exchange reserves.

Just a few days to the end of Buhari’s presidency, a government official paid over 140 million to a restaurant to construct classrooms. Because of the story, the journalist who published the story has been abducted by the police, but the government official who contracted a RESTAURANT to build a CLASSROOM is still chilling.
Today makes it a week since @Mazi_OJD of @fijnigeria was abducted, we call on all Nigerians to demand his release. Exposing corruption should not be a jail ticket. It defies logic by any standard.

Today makes it 7 full days that the Nigerian police have abducted @Mazi_OJD of @fijnigeria just for exposing financial irregularities by a government official. His offence was just being a journalist who’s simply doing his job for Nigeria. We call on Nigerians to demand for #FreeDanielOjukwuNow as we cannot continue to run a country without repect for the rule of law!

This morning, I met with the Journalist with @fijnigeria , @Mazi_OJD, who is still in Police Custody at SCID, Panti, Lagos. I observed the following:
1. We still run a Police system that cares less about Fundamental rights
2. He has been detained here since Wednesday, 1st May, 2024. Today is the fourth day.
3. His Mother only found out almost 48 hours later because they started looking at Police Stations and not because they allowed him contact his people.
4. Daniel was not allowed to call his Lawyers, friends or relatives to notify them of his arrest. The officers gave express instructions not to allow him reach out to anyone. He was kept incommunicado.
5. Police claim they have remand and search warrants but have never shown them to him.
6. Daniel, up till this moment haven’t been officially shown the petition against him nor has the Police communicated who the complainant is to him.
7. The Unit involved is said to be the “NPF National Cybercrime Centre (NCC) from Abuja” which means the offence being alleged is a bailable offence but he has not been offered bail and they haven’t presented him in court as enshrined in our Laws.
8. The officers here in Panti said they can’t help as it is not their case. No one is taking responsibility.
9. Now, I have tried to reach @Princemoye1 but he’s not picking nor returning. No one has so far offered any meaningful explanation and a citizen is being detained unnecessarily for a bailable offence.
10. You have to free Daniel now. He has certain health conditions which need medical attention. If anything happens to him, the Nigerian Police Force @PoliceNG should be held accountable.
