This is essentially how ERs are triaging right now.
Bug exception is that we aren’t tagging someone as dead for an airway issue, still tubing those folks.
@First10EM Buuut when your hospital/emergency department is 60-70% covid and you only have a handful of rooms capable of airborne precautions.... what else are we supposed to do?
@TheCaliBeachCo
Bought a product. Waited for MoNtHs to receive it, so long that we moved. Confirmed change of shipping address TWICE via email. Now shipped to the wrong city. They won't reply to our emails and don't have a phone number to call. Please respond to your customers!
@DrMarisaGFranco This! Humans are complicated and we can have more than one emotion at time without minimizing either. Enjoy! Celebrate! Thanks for sharing : )
@DGlaucomflecken As an emergency medicine doctor, I disagree w you. People wearing masks, even if incorrect, decreases the risk of spewing virus about. It's near impossible to buy an N95 now, so people aren't taking them from healthcare workers. Please stop mask shaming. You aren't helping.
To hear us talk about it, you’d think a hospital was only populated with doctors and nurses... sometimes we will add on mention of “and other staff.” We can’t care for a single patient without those “other staff.” Here are a few (thread).
@Bram_Rochwerg I'm an ED doc, currently out of clinical bc I'm 39wks pregnant. Hsband and I have been wearing N95s whenever we leave the house. To protect ourselves, unborn baby, and the hospital staff that we will encounter in the coming weeks.
We wear the same one and UV sanitize bw uses.
@reverendofdoubt @ericshappell We will all be going into the work force as attendings in our specialties.. not losing any workforce by graduating. We will have the ability to negotiate our pay and hours (finally). Would rather not stay a resident and get paid less than my value without work hour restrictions.
@strangeharbors THANK YOU.
All of my emergency medicine collegues on the front lines are terrified. This will help.
I'll say it again and again, THANK YOU
@nurahabdulhaqqq Most ERs in the country still do NoT have the ability for testing and those that do have very limited testing capabilities.
When the media says you can get tests, they are simply wrong.
Love, and ER doc
@bcopps @jmugele@eugenegu@choo_ek Learn vents.
Learn how to properly and safely don/doff PPE and how to safely re-use it.
Forget sepsis (almost NO covid patients develop true septic physiology... Very strange)
Read up on covid presentation and findings.
Figure out ICU resources to reference on the job
