My whole ORG just got sent to prison while running Siege of Orison. Sudden black screen then we all woke up here. WTF @elliot_maltby? π€£ #StarCitizen
@TheDarkLawTV Exactly. When you bend over for the curated content locusts, they'll eat up your freshly curated content and instantly move onto the next *thing*. Its unsustainable for a game like this. Provide players the tools and means to make their own content.
A year after release, I still cant get over how hard Funcom fumbled Dune Awakening. They had an original, exciting, emergent "War on Arrakis" vision, then pivoted to Stardew Arrakis within weeks of launch. And now look how beautifully that decision has repaid them.
@Xaxxus Yep, but i disagree its current state is much of an improvement. They've barely done anything with the end-game and the game still behaves nothing like the original vision.
@SeanCasGamer Its mind boggling isn't it. Instead of fixing problems, they instantly switched to Skeleton Crew mode and reached for the lowest hanging fruit to temporarily please the lowest common denominator who all left any way.
@BadAshJL@Gwyn_Delacroix@RobertsSpaceInd I know. But its still part of the existing static mesh/DGS, and it will likely cause instability for the DGS while they figure out how this is going to work.
Siege of Orison, Super Heavy Armor, Instancing and some other 4.9 changes pushed to 4.10 in Mid August. Great decision in my opinion. Game is unplayable in many ways right now, I'm personally burning out. This is a good, sensible decision. Good jarb @RobertsSpaceInd π
@RealMikeTheVike Yup they didn't facilitate combined arms combat from the start (and completely lied in their trailers), then neutered DD/PVP. But i hoped they would *get there* later on, but they've shown 0 interest in that so far.
@BlackShrubberie This one had all the levers to keep things going, though. A regularly wiping conflict driven map, PvEvP missions, a singular high value resource, base building etc. They just needed to improve/adapt it, but did nothing.
You can still turn this around @DuneAwakening@joelbylos. But you need to embrace the emergent, unpredictable, combined-arms vision you sold us of the Deep Desert, and an Atreides vs Harkonnen vs Arrakis narrative worth investing in. You know, like the trailers.
@Galidrum Probably one of my biggest disappointments in years. I used to defend Funcom but they showed they're spineless, willing to instantly gut the entire premise of the games original vision in favor of people pleasing the fickle "pump and dump" PvE only crowd.
