@WomensHoops_USA@othersidedj Her game has become so complete over the last 2 years. Can literally do anything you need on both ends. Criminal if she doesn’t win her 5th MVP.
@Hero_OfThe_Day@WNBA@WashMystics These are the new rules. They call everything now, even soft ass stuff like this. But this is what the CC fans wanted tbh.
@ali284400 That proves usage is high and she’s inefficient. As for the steals and blocks, teams put her in more defensive actions than anyone else, resulting in more chances to get steals and blocks. It’s why Trae Young led the league in steals, not because he’s good on D - teams hunted him
@williemoore@JaimeLardis Different league that was way more physical. Keep in mind Taurasi also had a very long career. Her last years bring down the percentage a lot.
@DBGyt_@JobsOnRackz They went on that run on probably the easiest schedule in the league from what I remember. Who did they beat?
Storm and Sun 1 time each? Everyone else was .500 or below. Fever were the best of the worst teams last year.
Not a juggernaut, even on the second half run.
@asong4today@WNBA This comment is exactly why she wasn’t the MVP. Lynx, even though they added some pieces, can stay afloat without Phee just like last year. Aces without A’ja are horrible.
@THEREALDAWG74 Imma steal and remix a phrase from Jaden McDaniels - “Go at CC, Hull, KM, AB, Raven Johnson, Sophie Cunningham, Timpson. Go at all of them… they’re all bad defenders”
@Simonnnnnnnfox@nosyone4 Inefficient logo threes and high emphasis on pick and roll/transition has never been a way to consistently win basketball games. But there’s hope. CC can become tier 1 if she developed a handle, post up, mid range and off ball ability. Paige + CC fused would be unstoppable.
@Simonnnnnnnfox@nosyone4 3. CC is a high CEILING, electric player with a high volume of touches + usage. She’s skilled but her play style is too variable to reliably say she’s better than guards like Gray, Plum, Jackie, C-Will, Skylar and even Miles right now. I value a high floor more than you, I guess
@Simonnnnnnnfox@nosyone4 2. By P/R/A you’ll struggle to find another PG with those numbers, I agree. Luckily basketball is more than mere box score. If you incorporate, efficiency (including TOs + scoring % as a whole), defensive ability and having a higher FLOOR, I’d take many players first.
@Simonnnnnnnfox@nosyone4 1. I already stated Nneka, JJ and AT were DEFINITIVELY better and should’ve been higher in MVP voting - defense, scoring, versatility, efficiency, record, higher floor. You could argue Sabrina and Copper over her too but I won’t die on that hill.
@Simonnnnnnnfox@nosyone4 Yes tiers above. CC is a great pick and roll/transition player but that’s where it ends. Her game is not diverse enough to be put in tier 1 star conversations. Her rookie MVP/All-W ranks were media narrative. No basketball reason she was above Nneka, JJ or AT in MVP voting.
