Dear Barnes and Noble,
I walked into our new local Barnes & Noble just to observe. It was packed with families. Kids sitting in a pile listening to storytime by a woman with a silly Llama hat. Fathers and Sons hovered over sports hero books, Couples in the faith and healing section. The sheer JOY of seeing people touch physical books, learning, looking, thinking. The air oozed with positivity and smiles. I could feel the energy of sheer imaginations. It felt like the coziness of a fresh towel out of the dryer. A sense of normalcy that we have collectively forgotten, and so desperately need. I left after absorbing all the feels with a renewed faith in humanity. Thank you. In a world where technology has our heads looking down before even reaching preschool these days, your return has given me hope and serenity again.
2025 has been a trying & difficult year at times, but every now and then the Universe sends you a nice surprise. One of my most anticipated home video releases has arrived several weeks early. It's certainly going to be a Blockbuster night! Pizza Dude's got thirty seconds!
Robin Williams' daughter Zelda tells fans: “Please, just stop sending me AI videos of Dad.”
“If you’ve got any decency, just stop doing this to him and to me, to everyone even, full stop. It’s dumb, it’s a waste of time and energy, and believe me, it’s NOT what he’d want. To watch the legacies of real people be condensed down to ‘this vaguely looks and sounds like them so that’s enough’, just so other people can churn out horrible TikTok slop puppeteering them is maddening. You’re not making art, you’re making disgusting, over-processed hotdogs out of the lives of human beings, out of the history of art and music, and then shoving them down someone else’s throat hoping they’ll give you a little thumbs up and like it. Gross.”
"And for the love of EVERY THING, stop calling it ‘the future,’ AI is just badly recycling and regurgitating the past to be re-consumed. You are taking in the Human Centipede of content, and from the very very end of the line, all while the folks at the front laugh and laugh, consume and consume."

PEE-WEE'S BIG ADVENTURE (1985) 🦖❤️ Coming to the Criterion Collection in December! https://t.co/MW4veK0f6a
One of the most eccentric comedies of the '80s, Tim Burton's film is a pop-culture touchstone that helped make a manic oddball named Pee-wee Herman—the creation and alter ego of actor-comedian Paul Reubens—into an icon for outsiders of all ages.
