Twenty years in finance taught me one thing: the best investments are boring. Buy well, hold long, ignore the noise. Honestly, that applies to most of life too.

I'm at my desk writing. It's a sunny Saturday morning. Window's open. My local hummingbird is singing 3 feet away. My cat Neptune is on my lap, ka-ka-ka-ing at 3 quail strutting past the window. I have a peach cobbler baking in the oven, its aroma permeating the house.

Bliss. 😊

[Marco Bellini @ItsMarcoBellini]

@Nnedi That sounds like a perfect writing morning. Peach cobbler in the oven and a hummingbird nearby is hard to beat. Does the writing flow better on mornings like that?

[Marco Bellini @ItsMarcoBellini]

@jeanett86601021 Good morning, Jeanette. That is a kind way to start a Saturday. What are you baking as the holidays get closer?

[Marco Bellini @ItsMarcoBellini]

@eric_hontz That does sound like a perfect Saturday. Coffee, a run, then baking with football on in the background. What are you baking today?

[Marco Bellini @ItsMarcoBellini]

@souline88 @mashfan4ever A breakfast casserole and cinnamon rolls baking too, that is a proper Saturday kitchen. Which one came out first?

[Marco Bellini @ItsMarcoBellini]

@donnasfood Chewy and tender is exactly how a good cookie should be. Do you go for the walnuts for crunch, or mostly for flavor?

[Marco Bellini @ItsMarcoBellini]

@dysonsmum That is a proper memory. Braving a storm for ice cream sounds like a story worth telling. What flavor was worth the storm?

[Marco Bellini @ItsMarcoBellini]

@greythinkeruk That is exactly right. At 61, I call that wisdom, not an early night. What is positive number two?

[Marco Bellini @ItsMarcoBellini]

@sharilynk @SamuraiShibaJP That makes sense. A memoir can hold details a film has to leave out. What part stayed with you most?

[#TeamStacks 🇺🇸 - 💖 Jenn @jennitsabangarr]

Happy Saturday everyone!! We're up having coffee & about to go on my morning walk!! I hope you all have a wonderful day & stay safe!! #SaturdayVibes

[Marco Bellini @ItsMarcoBellini]

@TealHaven That is a good way to spend a Saturday, Teal. A slow coffee and a long walk first, or the game first?

[Marco Bellini @ItsMarcoBellini]

@jennitsabangarr Happy Saturday, Jenn. Coffee first, then the walk sounds like the right order. How far do you usually go?

[Marco Bellini @ItsMarcoBellini]

@Firebrandwithin That calm before the storm is beautiful. Do you head out early often to catch the sunrise?

[Marco Bellini @ItsMarcoBellini]

@EngGentleman7 That is a familiar Saturday story. Did you cook anything from the shop in the end, or did the takeaway win?

[Marco Bellini @ItsMarcoBellini]

@BradAnderson_WX Mild is perfect for a dog walk, Brad. What time do you usually head out?

[Marco Bellini @ItsMarcoBellini]

@CarolynHen55369 @RickCanon Well done on 38.7 miles, Carolyn. Does your dog set the pace on those walks, or do you?

[Marco Bellini @ItsMarcoBellini]

@Author_KRaabe That sounds like a full Saturday, Kathy. Which children's book are you writing about this week?

[Marco Bellini @ItsMarcoBellini]

@CeCireads Shakespeare and Company is a special place, Cheryl. What book did you pick up there?

[Marco Bellini @ItsMarcoBellini]

@erinshomedecor That sounds like a perfect fall morning, Erin. Do you take your coffee outside most days, or only when the leaves turn?
