I don’t even eat cottage cheese. I’m way more active on TikTok and tumblr (itsMeri166 and Meri166) im so mericore she is so me. read just girly things.
@SCP_site19_main@witchexia If you actually liked and cared about Scp and its database of stories written by hundreds of different people you would not support this movie
Genuinely wondering who is the target audience? Who is gonna wanna see an scp movie with original anomalies? The people that dont care abt scp in the first place? Certainly not the people that know their way around the wiki lol
I reiterate all of my prior concerns about the SCP film being a trojan horse for a corporation to swoop in and try to steal the IP from fans. I don't trust any major corporation to handle and respect the property and its community.
ppl in the replies being like “who would they contact/what does contacting even mean” ARE SO FUCKING STUPID im pissed
it’s so obvious they’re posers (prob bots idk) because the wiki is literally where all of the scp sauce is .
we need to start READING . REEEEAAADDDD
I’m so Mentally unprepared for the bastardization of SCPs via this movie
It’s a massive online writing community with THOUSANDS of unique fictional tales
And all we finna get in this movie is the statute, the lizard, the screaming face dude, maybe the flesh dogs and the slime
I'm noticing that the Venn diagram between people who are glad A24 isn't contacting the SCP wiki and people who don't read any articles because they claim the wiki is "too woke now" is a solid fucking circle
Okay I’ll give my actual two cents on the SCP movie stuff before I go to bed.
People have already said everything I could say, so I’ll leave it at this:
the whole V/H/S scp movie thing feels like someone barged into my home, started grabbing things and said “you know, this would look really nice in my house” while i can only stand around and watch
Disheartening as fuck how A24 / everyone involved with this SCP film seem to be actively avoiding acknowledging the license. Stings of wanting to take advantage of the creative contributions of thousands of ppl without giving due credit. Really hoping for a change of heart.
I’m anti SCP movie not because I’m worried about copyright issues or that it’ll be a bad movie but bc I hate when SCP discourse goes mainstream and suddenly people who don’t even know the wiki exists start acting like experts
Hello @A24 - can you clarify if the movie is going to be released under the CC BY-SA 3.0 license and follow the rules listed here? - https://t.co/qiuMqINgJY
This is the only answer that matters if you’re adapting content from the SCP wiki or using the SCP name.
Many thanks!
Scp posers who only watch YouTube shorts hearing that the scp website has its own license and wants to talk to a company notorious for trying to take rights from collective works
We stand with @scpwiki and hope to see a response from @A24 regarding their upcoming V/H/S title. We hope the intent isn't to make illegal use of this body of work in order to make lots of money at the box office. That would be very disappointing.
