I work with MTN Nigeria🇳🇬 earning ₦550,000 monthly.

People think I am wealthy because I wear a corporate ID card, but after taxes, pension, and NHF deductions, I take home ₦390,000.

Expenses include rent (₦80,000), NEPA plus diesel (₦45,000), transport (₦35,000), feeding (₦70,000+), and sending money to people who believe Lagos is where money grows on trees.

I send ₦100,000 monthly to my father in Kebbi. Nobody calls to ask how I am, only when money is needed.Last month I had ₦8,000 left and borrowed from a colleague who understood without asking questions.

From outside I look successful. Inside I am one emergency away from collapse.

What should I do?

One way to lose value or respect is to be jobless and always be at home. I was out of work after leaving law school, but I did not let the children leave me at home.
