I 🏃💨 off the bus but when I turned back, The bus was gone. The street was empty and dark 🌑. Weeks later, I read about a missing person on the same bus route that had disappeared exactly a week before. The description matched the man I saw...
THE LAGOS MIDNIGHT BUS
I always took the last bus home from work coz It was cheap and empty… until one night, it wasn’t. The bus pulled up late, only the driver and me-except for one man at the back, hood pulled over his face.I sat near the middle, trying to ignore him. But,
It drove past familiar streets I knew well. My phone 📱 showed no signal, The city lights were gone 🌑 Only darkness. We reached the last stop… a place I didn’t recognize. The man was gone, the driver turned to me “You’re late,” he said, in a voice I didn’t recognize.
A pair of pale, small hands shot out from the floor grabbing my ankles
I kicked, screamed & finally yanked myself free. The hands vanished. Silence.. Years later still nothing.
Even now,I sleep with the lights on. Sometimes, I swear I hear faint giggles coming from under my bed…
🕯️Every night, I heard it—a child’s voice under the floorboards. My parents said I imagined it until the night it spoke my name. I crept down the stairs, whispering “Hello?” The voice repeated, clearer this time: “I’m here… come play…' I looked at the floor. No gaps, no cracks.
"Why did you wake me?”
I couldn’t sleep. Every shadow in the room seemed alive, stretching towards the floor, reaching.
I tried ignoring it, pretending nothing existed but each night, the voice became bolder, more urgent.
One night, it screamed my name.
