A democratic nation must safeguard the principle of free speech. Regrettably, the actions of self-serving & irrational individuals are undermining this fundamental right on a global scale. Certain so-called leaders exhibit an inability to tolerate dissenting opinions.
Article 35 (1) Every citizen has the right of access to information held by the State.
Article 35 (3): The State SHALL publish and publicise any important information affecting the nation.
Disclosure of information is a Constitutional imperative not something left to the whims of one person. The era of secretive deals negotiated in the dark will end when we kick this current regime out and return our country back to the rule of Law.
Btw he has never mourned those who we lost during the protests and took 48 hrs to mourn the children who died in a dorm fire but for Wicknell he has woken up at 1am to mourn him .
Endarasha kids never mattered?
Utumishi kids never mattered ?
Those you killed during maandamano never mattered?
But this fat boi mattered to you more than the innocent kids ? Kai uriaga njagathi ? Senji
Wicknell is dead. The presidents he used to do money laundering for must be rushing to the toilet, only for air to come out, while the JKIA staff who used to line up like dogs for his money must be very sad today.
It has emerged that key documents, including the signed agreement for Dangote’s Sh2.2 trillion Lamu refinery, have not been made public as required by Kenyan law, despite Wednesday’s groundbreaking.
As a Kenyan, I distance myself completely from President Ruto’s glowing tribute to Wicknell Chivayo.
Those condolences and that “dear friend” language are his own, not mine, as a Kenyan.
Chivayo had a prior criminal conviction and served an effective three-year prison sentence, while his later dealings in major public contracts repeatedly attracted controversy and scrutiny.
Kenyans are speaking for themselves on social media because public money lost through corruption and rotten procurement is money that never builds schools, hospitals, roads or other services ordinary people desperately need. Some died, because of this corruption.....
So please, Mr President, mourn your friend in your own name. Do not dress personal friendship with powerful businessmen as though the whole country shares the sentiment.
Dear EPRA (@EPRA_KE ) , Kenyans deserve electricity bills they can afford and explanations they can understand.
September’s fuel, forex and water charges alone amount to about Sh4.16 per unit, on top of the base electricity tariff. Consume 100 units and roughly Sh416 goes to those three charges alone.
That burden travels far beyond the token meter. A posho mill needs electricity. So does a bakery, a salon, a welding workshop and the fridge keeping a small trader’s stock fresh.
Expensive power squeezes their earnings and puts pressure on the prices everyone pays. Even households using very little electricity can feel the pain at the shop.
Yes, these charges are lower than August’s. But a reduction does not settle the bigger question: why must keeping a home lit and a small business running remain such a financial struggle?
EPRA must explain what it is doing to challenge avoidable costs and protect consumers. The Energy Ministry must deliver a credible plan for cheaper power. Kenyans cannot build businesses, create jobs and feed families when the cost of simply staying operational keeps swallowing their income.
They want us to stop saying Ruto is a killer because they know he's a killer, but we'll not stop saying Ruto is a killer
Kenya has good decent men and women who can lead the nation
Killers must leave office in 2027
When a government starts moving billions away from the light of constitutional oversight, Kenyans should not be told to admire the darkness.
Public money is not a politician’s private wallet. It is taxpayers’ money, and every shilling must remain traceable, accountable and subject to the safeguards established by the Constitution.
Bypassing scrutiny is like removing the CCTV cameras from a bank vault and then demanding that nobody ask what happened inside. It creates the perfect environment for waste, abuse and corruption to hide behind paperwork.
Development does not require secrecy. Legitimate public expenditure does not fear an audit. Only those who benefit from darkness have a reason to resent the light.
The Controller of Budget is not an ornamental office. Oversight is not an inconvenience. Transparency is not optional.
When billions disappear into constitutional blind spots, the question is not why citizens are suspicious. The question is why anyone in government would want the blind spot in the first place.
THE ORIGINAL SIN: THE CAPTURE OF THE NATIONAL TREASURY
Parliament's decision in 2012, at Section 11 of the Public Finance Management Act, to convert the National Treasury - which is established in the Constitution as an independent constitutional institution - into a department of the National Executive, placed under the political control of the President through the Cabinet Secretary for Finance, is the original sin at the heart of our woes.
It is the moment the architecture of accountability was dismantled. It is the moment the purse was surrendered to the Executive and the Control of public funds was lost. Parliament too lost its power because the President no longer had to govern through the national budget.
And it is also the moment the door was opened to the debt crisis, the opaque borrowing, the concealed expenditure, and the impunity that now strangle our Republic.
To drain the swamp, we must reinstate an independent National Treasury.
The Republic's financial system must return to the design in the Constitution - where a chain of separated constitutional powers ensures that no President, no Minister, no Treasurer, no Parliamentarian, no Governor, no creditor, and no bureaucrat can ever capture the entire life‑cycle of public money.
That is the Constitution's promise. That is the promise we must reclaim.

This is one of the best illustrations of what socialism (in any form) does to the poor. It promises a ladder of programs & benefits but can’t lift people out of poverty. No country on earth has made the poor better off under socialist governments.
