hi. I'm Tigrino.

I'm 3 pounds, 10 years old, and the only known cat of my species. A man found me on a road in Bolivia as a kitten and thought I was a house cat. I was not. In 2017 he gave me to @La_Senda_Verde and this week scientists named my species after 9 years of trying to figure out what I am.

In the 24 hours after that, strangers on the internet sent my sanctuary over $100,000.

I don't understand any of this. I just eat.

His name is Tigrino. He's the only known member of his species, and he lives at a wildlife sanctuary in Bolivia.

In the 24 hours after this story went viral, internet strangers donated over $100,000 to his sanctuary. Not a charity drive, just people who saw the story and wanted him to be okay.
