On the sacred month of Ramzan, I extend my heartfelt greetings and warm wishes to all. I had the privilege of attending the âDawat-e-Iftarâ event organised by the Kolkata Municipal Corporation. It was a deeply moving moment of collective prayer, reflection, and togetherness
Bengalâs identity has always been shaped by harmony and shared heritage. In this sacred land, the songs of universalism by Kobiguru Rabindranath Tagore and Kazi Nazrul Islam resonate in unison with the timeless message of unity and brotherhood preached by Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa and Swami Vivekananda.
May this holy month inspire us all to strengthen the bonds of humanity, deepen our commitment to justice and empathy, and uphold the enduring spirit of unity that defines our beloved Bengal.
The Supreme Courtâs clear and unequivocal verdict marks the end of an unjust and politically motivated financial blockade. By withholding MGNREGA funds for over three years, the @narendramodi Government at the Centre deprived Bengalâs rural poor of their livelihoods in an act that defied both morality and constitutional propriety.
It was the politics of punishment driven by a Bangla-Birodhi Zamindari mindset that sought to starve Bengal into submission. The Court has said what Bengal has been saying all along, you can check, you can question, but you cannot choke peopleâs livelihoods in the name of oversight. The Court has upheld the Calcutta High Courtâs verdict in its entirety, confirming Bengalâs stand as both legal and just.
Under the determined leadership of Smt. @MamataOfficial and the tireless advocacy of Shri @abhishekaitc, this issue became a fight for constitutional rights for our people. The verdict is a triumph for justice and a defeat for the politics of hate and discrimination. The Centre must now comply without delay and release Bengalâs rightful dues to those it wronged. Joy Bangla!
