In this programme, a new approach is being pursued that combines the competencies of combustion research and additive manufacturing to advance the thermochemical energy conversion, which is essential for the transformation towards a carbon-neutral energy system.

On 5 September 2023, Dr.-Ing. Joachim Beeckmann gave an invited talk at the "IMEKO TC20: International Conference on Measurements of Energy", organised by PTB, Braunschweig, entitled "Microgravity Experiments - A Key Measure in Extracting Ultra-Slow Flame Speed Metrics".
A warm welcome to our new Ph.D. researcher, Mr. Patrick Hermsmeyer! He will be working on SPP 2419 "HyCAM" project, where his role is to further develop numerical combustion models and optimization methods using machine learning and adjoint methods.

Mr. Pooria Farmand from ITV presented his research at the workshop, which focused on modeling homogeneous ignition processes of clustering solid particle clouds in isotropic turbulence.
The 4th International Workshop on Oxy-Fuel Combustion, held in Naples (Italy) from March 22nd to 23rd, 2023, brought together researchers to share their latest findings and insights on different aspects of coal and biomass conversion.
