New England could possibly get a W team in the 2030s by paying an expansion fee, of course.
The same fee that Tilman Fertitta avoided in purchasing the Sun. Makes sense, right?
NEW: The @WNBA is planning to have the Trump-supported USA 250 patch on All-Star Game uniforms in July, sources told @Sportico.
The league was not part of the original Jan. announcement, and many of its stars have been outspoken against the White House.

Just my two cents: I grew up in Connecticut and what happened with the Sun really doesn't sit right with me. That state has supported women's basketball since way before it was cool. UConn-Tennessee basically inspired the WNBA to exist.
The New England Blizzard, in WNBA precursor ABL, drew fans. Fans still supported the Sun, who play in the middle of NOWHERE. It takes everyone 45 minutes each way to get there.
I get it, capitalism doesn't care. But getting moved to a sexier TV market with an NBA owner with no chance for regional buyers to save the team is gross.
Connecticut Sun president Jen Rizzotti spoke to reporters after the league announced WNBA/NBA BOG approval of the franchise's sale and relocation to Houston.
Rizzotti said Houston has been looped in to a certain extent on the basketball side, but decisions for the '26 season have fallen to herself and GM Morgan Tuck.
Now that the sale is official, there'll be a lot more communication going forward.
The Sun said it was pretty much the last ride for everyone associated with the team except the players. Did you guys not read the entire statement when the team was sold? Don't answer it, I already know.
