At #SCEWC25, the IURC Global Thematic Networking Event gathered 240+ delegates from 130+ cities & regions across Europe, the Americas, & Asia–Australasia — driving #Innovation, #Sustainability & #ClimateAction through city-to-city partnerships.

Day 2 featured matchmaking and pilot-action meetings in meeting rooms and at the EU Pavilion with @Mayors4Climate — visiting exhibitors, connecting leaders, researchers, and innovators to design new joint projects for sustainable urban futures. 🤝💡

The visit focused on the Port’s hydrogen and Blue Economy strategy, highlighting its efforts toward decarbonisation through electrification, energy efficiency, and sustainable fuel management.

Day 3 took cooperation into the field with site visits to Barcelona’s innovation ecosystem — from supercomputing and agri-tech to the hydrogen-powered Port of Barcelona. 🚀⚓

Unfortunately due to a strong storm, the visit to the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, the Agropolis Research Hub (UPC) and ERA Gavà-Viladecans Environmental Recovery Area was cancelled by the city authorities. However, IURC delegates could still visit the Barcelona Port.
