Mama Akiiki, you have been strong for Tooro for so many years. Today, may Tooro be strong for you.
May we give you room to grieve. May we protect your dignity. May we surround you with prayer instead of noise, compassion instead of curiosity, and love instead of unnecessary battles.
You raised our King.
You gave Tooro your son.
And today, we mourn with you.
Father, hold this mother in a way that only You can. Give her strength where there are no words, peace beyond human understanding, and grace for every difficult day ahead.
Mama Akiiki, we are praying for you. ๐๐พ๐๏ธ

The King (Omukama).
One who is born during travel (Oyo), his Luo heritage tells us.
The one who sings (Nyimba).
A large spotted hyena or leopard (Kabamba).
The sky or the heavens (Iguru).
The one from the land of the Bakidi, the northerner (Rukidi), of Luo heritage.
What a regal and powerful name befitting Rukirabasaija Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, as a person, and as exemplified by his reign.
As an Africanist, I absolutely love his full name that is devoid of Anglo-Saxon rooted names.

His Excellency President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni will officiate at the historic national occasion as Uganda formally names its crude oil blend.
The ceremony marks a significant milestone in the countryโs journey toward first oil, giving Ugandan crude a clear commercial identity that can be recognised and traded on the global market.
It reflects years of investment, partnership and national effort to develop the Albertine resources for the benefit of all Ugandans.
@UNOC_UG
Fellow Ugandans, especially the Bazzukulu,
ย
It is with a lot of sadness that, on the behalf of all Ugandans, Maama Janet and myself, I extend our most heart-felt condolences to the Royal Family of Tooro and to all Ugandans on account of the death of the prominent Muzzukulu, His Highness Oyo, the King of Tooro at such a young age of 34. How unfair life can be!! He was orphaned while still young and he has died young.
ย
In the short life on earth, he had shown that he had potential of working well with the Central and Local Governments to develop Tooro. What a loss to Tooro and Uganda.
ย
Some months back, Her Royal Highness Kemigisa, Nyinomukama, came to tell me that the Muzzukulu Oyo had cancer that was very aggressive. The Government supported them to go to Germany and, then, the USA where he died.
I congratulate my very beautiful daughter, Kenshuro Kainerugaba, for graduating from the University of Bath last month. I and Mama Charlotte could not be more proud.
I warmly congratulate Officer Cadet Ruhamya Kainerugaba on his successful graduation from the prestigious Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.
This outstanding achievement is a proud moment for Gen @mkainerugaba & family, the Uganda Peopleโs Defence Forces, and the entire nation. May the discipline, leadership and excellence instilled at Sandhurst continue to guide you as you serve Uganda with distinction.

Last evening, I attended the official launch of Yaobai Cement Karamoja at Silver Springs Hotel.
I congratulate @yaobaicementug upon this important milestone. Investments like this create jobs, support local businesses, strengthen the construction sector, and contribute significantly to Ugandaโs industrial growth and economic development.
This is a strong vote of confidence in our country and an important step towards a more prosperous and self-sustaining Uganda.
He has been the best Minister in our government for the past 5 years. I want to be the first to endorse him for Speaker of Parliament (2026-2031). God bless Hon.Oboth-Oboth!
NRMโs Stephen Shyaka Gashaija has taken the oath as Member of Parliament for Entebbe Municipality, Wakiso District, during the opening day of the 12th Parliament.
