@mkainerugaba You claim these technocrats might be working for Uganda's enemies, but who appointed them, who supervises them, and who has the power to remove them?
Very sad to learn about the predicament of this 72-year-old citizen, Namuddu Ruth. When NEMA destroyed her home, rental houses and the homes of other people in June, she didn't have where to go. Even when we assisted her find some land with an unfinished house, she didn't have the means to complete it immediately.
Most importantly, she refused the regime's efforts to compromise them and take them to some village. She kept demanding for justice. In order to find a shelter over her head, she erected a tent at the place where her good houses once stood. The regime responded by arresting her alongside 10 others and remanded them to Luzira prison where they have been for the past two months.
In the crudest form of injustice, we're told the magistrate declined to grant her bail because she didn't have a fixed place of abode- the same place NEMA destroyed.
Those who rule over us are completely unconcerned about the plight of such an elderly citizen. Very grateful to all citizens who are raising voices regarding her situation and the situation of all others in detention for no justifiable reason. Yet another reminder that the people of Uganda will only live freely in their country when Uganda becomes free!
