Writing my final final exam this morning
By God's grace, I'll be finishing this chapter as a Mechatronics Engineer
Indeed, God has been faithful. ๐๐ฝ๐
My team mates @Ivy_codes@uglyplugboi@Awolowo_szn@akinyelu_esther@ServiceBlocks we've launched Logistic mobile app, and an Edutech app in 6 weeks simultaneously while juggling school work on the side, even right now Icha is writing his final 500 lvl Engineering exams at FUNAAB
We execute fast because it's pure passion, it's not forced work, we'd test well, and launch well, and nothing will break in production.
Delivering mobile apps in 6 weeks is not for the faint hearted, it's for those with intentionality, and years of previous work as guidance
Hire us today ( Link in Bio )
A UK-based founder is offerign me ยฃ1,000 every month to run his โUber for Lawyersโ startup as a co-founder, plus equity.
I'd be the one to build the product, hire staff as needed, manage execution, and basically carry the startup from idea to launch.
ยฃ1,000 is not tiny, but itโs also not big.
A Product Designer alone can take ยฃ600 from the first month, Brand Designer about ยฃ300, leaving the Dev just ยฃ100
Marketing can swallow the following month without a penny touching my account.
But if I follow the lean startup approach, keep things simple, and launch fast, maybe something worthwhile can come out of it.
Now the problem is this:
I donโt believe in the idea.
I highly doubt it would yield any serious profit, and most of the burden would be on me without any significant pay.
So on one hand, it looks like a possible opportunity.
From my POV it looks like wahala, cause Nigerians in the UK tends to feel like they are getting scammed at any slight loss.
The PROs:
โข I can deliver the MVP within 6 weeks
โข Maintaining the software would be easy for me
โข Cloud services would cost less than ยฃ50
โข The idea sounds interesting enough to pitch
The CONs:
โข Designers can take almost all of the first monthโs budget
โข Real marketing would likely start from the 2nd month
โข Lawyers are not an easy audience to sell to
โข The founder may think ยฃ1,000/month means โyou handle everythingโ
โข Equity means nothing if the business never makes money
โข I would have to devote much time to it, and won't be able to do my actual freelance Engineering work
What would you advise?
Should I take the offer and test it lean, or reject it because the risk is clearly not balanced?
New month.
New chance to finally ship the product that's been sitting in your head rent free.
The idea is still good.
The market is still waiting.
The only thing missing is the right team.
Happy new month from ServiceBlocks. Let's build๐๐ฝ
