“I would rather die than withdraw.”
In 1991, after H.W. Bush nominated Clarence Thomas to the Supreme Court, a woman claimed that Thomas sexually harassed her as her supervisor at two separate jobs. She was questioned on why she followed Thomas to the second job, after allegedly being harassed at the first.
At the hearing, led by Senate Judiciary Committee chair Joe Biden, Thomas vehemently and completely denied the allegations. He pointed to white liberals attempting to block a black conservative from taking a Supreme Court for having the wrong opinions, calling it a “high-tech lynching for uppity blacks who in any way deign to think for themselves, to do for themselves, to have different ideas, and it is a message that unless you kowtow to an old order, this is what will happen to you.”
The Senate confirmed Thomas to the Supreme Court by a vote of 52-48.
He’s faced the mob before, and he ascended in spite of it. We merely adopted the dark. He was born in it, molded by it. Clarence Thomas is the GOAT and the blueprint.
The “This Is Football” doc has great segment of Pep Guardiola watching his Barcelona game tape and adressing idea that Messi walks lazily around the pitch:
“He’s walking. That’s what I like the most. He is not out of the game, he’s involved. He’s moving his head. Right, left, left, right. He knows exactly what is going to happen. But his head is always…moving.
He’s not running, but he’s always watching what’s happening. He smells where are the weak points in the back four. After 5-10 minutes, he has the map in his eyes…in his brain to know exactly where is the space and what is the panorama.
It’s like being in the jungle and I have to survive. And he knows if I move here or here, I will have more space to attack."
there is something intoxicating about a person who is deeply occupied with something they are passionate about. the most attractive people are usually the hardest to reach. not because they are playing games. not because they think they’re better than everyone else. but because their mind is already occupied by something bigger than attention. they are building something. mastering something. obsessed with something. and that obsession gives them a kind of energy you cannot fake. people can feel when someone’s entire life revolves around being noticed. it makes them predictable, too available, too easy to read. but the people who stay in your mind for years are different. they have depth. mystery. a private world you cannot fully access. they disappear into their craft instead of disappearing into validation. they don’t wait around for texts all day because they are too busy becoming someone they are proud of. and the craziest part? the less they need attention, the more magnetic they become. because “nothing is more alluring than someone who has somewhere else to be, even if that place is internal.”
Run. Just run. You accomplish a few things.
1) You come out into the sunlight. Escape the darkness inside.
2) Vicariously live through other people you encounter. Escape your damning mind.
3) You accomplish something through exertion. Good for the mind's belief system.
Run!
As a man, the most GANGSTA thing you can do as a man is get mad at yourself for wasting your potential and then rebuild your entire life from that ANGER. Don't ever settle. You're made for more.
Stop running toward people who are walking away from you.
Your energy is not currency you print. It is land; finite, valuable, and slow to recover once stripped.
Spend it where it compounds. Protect it everywhere else.
53. No changes at the break and little chances so far this half - Kante has been everywhere all game, if we can bypass him we might be in business!

Randomly remembered one time I was scammed on instagram. Before I paid, I asked the vendor ‘please hope you will deliver’ and the person replied with ‘don’t worry, you will testify’😭😭😭
