Please, I know it’s your money, and I didn’t help you make it, but when you want to gift someone, please make sure it’s something they actually want or need, not just something you personally like.
I’ve done all this in Nigeria.
Donated Blood sometimes because my patient couldn’t afford it.
Stuck my neck out for an OSUSTECH student attacked by cultists, suturing him in complete darkness because they could come back if they knew we were saving him.
Sprinting across the hospital to borrow an oxygen cylinder from another ward.
All while our salaries were being owed.
Non-functioning incubator? We built one with a paper box.
Infectious ward? We bought our own PPE.
Faulty Generator on Night shifts ? Serviced it and continue working.
WE got shit done.
I’m so happy that I’m not seeing the original tweets on Temi Otedola and her pregnancy. All I can see are women speaking up on the issue. So glad I really cleansed my TL well.
We hear so much about pregnancy yet many of us will never give birth. But menopause? Almost all of us will face it, & barely anyone talks about it. I need more women to start sharing that story too.
Dating for survival is the only reason many women are seeing nothing wrong with this. Their judgement is impaired by the him doing things they can't do for themselves. Cos if you have your own, or are content with what you have or your stage in life, a man not telling you I Love You, or saying it back, would raise AUTOMATIC red flags.
Cos wtf is I appreciate you???
I read a quote that said, “You can be the prettiest shade of green, but you’ll never be enough for someone whose favorite color is blue,” and it really stuck with me.
