Lenin did not intend Bolshevism to remain confined to Russia.

After World War I, the Bolsheviks openly aimed to export revolution into Central Europe.

In 1918, Béla Kun returned from Soviet Russia and became a central figure in the communist revolutionary movement in Hungary.

On 21 March 1919, the Hungarian Soviet Republic was proclaimed under Béla Kun.

Lenin welcomed Soviet Hungary and regarded it as part of the wider international communist revolution.

Austria was also a target of revolutionary Bolshevism in 1919. Communist attempts failed there — but the ambition was real.

Russia → Hungary → Austria → Germany.

That was the revolutionary trajectory Lenin hoped would transform Europe.

The Hungarian Soviet Republic collapsed after only a few months, and Austria remained outside the Soviet system.

But the lesson matters today:

Russian attempts to export authoritarian ideology, destabilization and revolution into Europe did not begin with Stalin or Putin.

They began with Lenin.

Europe must understand the historical continuity of Russian imperial and revolutionary interference.

I love discussing the critiques Chinese communists make of USSR, I love discussing the tendencies and criticisms internally in USSR, I love discussing other revolutionaries criticizing USSR, even many non-socialist historians are quite intelligent and can contribute a lot! It’s so interesting and fascinating, and I learn so much. What’s super boring is having brainwashed US empire simps screaming at me having zero knowledge or desire to know the truth. They don’t want anyone having a good faith discussion. Unfortunately, so many laws, policies and propaganda are in place to prevent people from actually discussing USSR, this anti-communist reactionary period only breeds outraged, fanatically hate-filled people by design!
