Between a major factor in my recent housing search going bust and reading about some proposed legislation that impacts my ability to exist in society I am starting to think that

To be fair, the main reason I could not find affordable housing is because it is hard for girls like us to find safe accepting spaces. So not entirely the fault of academic salaries I suppose.

It used to be that opera was the pop music of the day. Verdi played in frontier cowboy bars across the American West. I would love the art form to get back there instead of wallowing in nostalgia and esotericism. 🎵🎶
