Don't mind me, just joining in and sharing https://t.co/CfpuL9k65x in the quotes. Write 50k words in November, but don't give your time and attention to this negligent and dangerous organisation.
📝🎉Preptober is here, and we’re happy to have @ScrivenerApp share some wonderful resources to help you organize, plan, and write your way to NaNoWriMo success. Stay tuned for exclusive content, writing tips, and amazing discounts throughout the month!
Great article summarising the current AI situation with #NaNoWriMo, and featuring some really wonderful comments from Jenai. I'm so glad she's helping to speak up for us neurodiverse writers.
Last weekend several authors cut ties with National Novel Writing Month after the nonprofit issued a statement seemingly greenlighting the use of AI in writing. https://t.co/Z9vWUAhWjg
When #NaNoWriMo's entire strategy was to allow a child predator to die instead of taking steps to protect young and vulnerable writers, I don't think it's worth giving them any grace.
In other words, let NaNoWriMo die instead of parading around its rotten corpse for donations.
Truly the best representation of #NaNoWriMo culture. Between this and them happily firing three neurodiverse MLs without explanation before claiming to care about those same communities, it's the perfect nutshell for anybody looking in.
By the way, if you openly criticize #NaNoWriMo’s promotion of AI, they’ll go into your DMs and threaten you for not following their Codes of Conduct, lol
It's a shame to see my reason for studying Creative Writing turning into an unrecognisable husk of its former self. Thank you for teaching me to love writing #NaNoWriMo, but it's you, not me.
#NaNoWriMo, the disgraced "write a novel in a month" platform that got exposed for alleged grooming, has now fully embraced using AI to write, even going as far to post an overly aggressive FAQ about it.
Apparently it's ableist AND classist to be against AI.

Tonight, as part of Nottingham Poetry Festival and hosted by our very own @dradny, we heard stirring readings from several of our BA, MA and PhD Creative Writing students at a packed Carousel. 1/2
Was so, so proud and beyond lucky to see my wonderful @ntuhum coursemate Flynn reading a piece for @NottmPoetryFest yesterday! Might have cried a little bit, but nobody needs to know that, right?
A perfect (and poetic lol) end to an incredible first year. 💕
25/03/23 Had my piece performed live at @wearenonsuch during @MIABMonologues Nottingham event, with the (totally awesome) theme of rebellion. Video here: https://t.co/x3YmSPMuzl
