The 2026 KHSAA Dead Period begins in less than 48 hours.

For two weeks, there will be:

❌ No practices
❌ No team meetings
❌ No 7-on-7s
❌ No lifting
❌ No tryouts
❌ No fundraising activities
❌ No open gyms
❌ No open fields

Annually from June 25th through July 9th, Kentucky's student-athletes and coaches get a mandatory two-week break from school-sponsored athletics.

And that's a good thing.

The weights will still be there.
The playbooks will still be there.
The games will still be there.

For two weeks, let the kids be kids.

Go on vacation. Sleep in. Go fishing. Spend time with family. Make memories.

The countdown to fall sports can wait until Friday, July 10th

Imprisoned fathers at Angola Prison spend Father's Day outside of prison with their sons, thanks to Christian organization 'God Behind Bars.'

For some fathers, it was the first time they had ever spent a whole day with their sons.

62 boys got to fish, play sports, and BBQ with their dads, many for the first time.

"Each dad wrote his son a personal letter and handed him a Bible to take home. Words of love, apology, hope, faith, and legacy were shared face to face..." the organization said.

@CoachKeepitReal @STSBreeze It was but it’s not anymore. The coenrollment piece has been legal and in place for 2 years now I believe.
They amended it to say in your district this year because kids were living 3-4 countries over on flvs and playing. So they added that clause to it going into this year

@CoachKeepitReal @STSBreeze So the rule isn’t they have to pay tuition it’s they have to meet compliance paperwork with FHSAA. So if the paperwork goes thru that’s not on the school that’s on the FHSAA for allowing it. This is why counties are now charging non public students who coenroll at a public school

@CoachKeepitReal @STSBreeze So I’m not trying to get in it just want to answer your question. It is both legal and simple. If you attend a school that doesn’t have a certain sport you can coenroll at a school in your district. Ex. FLVS kid (No sports) lives in the 813 plays at CDS.
