Mike Finger with a silver lining on the Finals loss (via Spurs Insider Pod):
"This makes the story better man. I just think that, instead of just immediately having everything go right, the best championship stories are the ones where there's a little bit to overcome.. there's conflict, there's agony, there's just moments of doubt.
You go back to 2014.. people say they could've won back to back titles. I'm not so sure about that. If you win in 2013, if that shot rims out from the corner, and the Spurs hang on and win that championship against LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade, are they as compelled, focused, driven to win the next year? Do we get to witness that beautiful game 2014 run, that magical run down the stretch..
There's something to be said for coming up short against a really great magical team in the New York Knicks this year. And maybe this will lead to something better, something different down the line."

It feels like the Spurs gaind 5 years of playoff experience in this playoff run
They've now been in every basketball situation imaginable, this is going to make them so much better next session
Spurs offseason changes:
1. Get a PF ASAP
2. Dump Fox for whatever you can get. 3. Get a useful backup big for Wemby. 4. Get a backup PG for Dylan.
Championship.
What a season.
From the lottery to 60 wins.
From out of the playoffs to winning the West.
6 year playoff drought gone.
9 year WCF appearance drought over.
12 years not winning the West erased.
I love this team so much
Unforgettable year San Antonio Spurs. Thank you so much.
Danny Green reflects on the Spurs season and says the Finals loss is the best thing that could have happened for them:
“This was a hell of a season by the San Antonio Spurs..
This is the most proud I’ve been of any group and made me feel like I was a part of the group this year. Felt alive rooting for them, made me believe..
And honesty, I think this is the best thing that could have happened for them. And again in the same breath, probably the worst thing that’s going to happen for the league because now all you’ve done is awakened a monster in Victor Wembanyama.”

The San Antonio Spurs showed passion, heart, and immaturity in this NBA Finals. After toppling the reigning Champ OKC Thunder, they let four games slip away on the biggest stage. I am devastated for them. My only solace is that we won't have to hear the commentators anymore...
