The Australia I grew up in is disappearing.
I'm seeing our culture and demographics shift rapidly, and our economy decline.
And I can't help but think, like many Australian's, that mass migration is a central cause.
It is driving an economic and demographic transformation unlike anything in our history. Yet it seems that few Australians truly grasp just how significant this issue really is.
That’s why I, @Justindevries03, one of the team at the @page_research, have started a series of articles on Substack, arguing against mass migration, to bring this issue to the forefront, and to help Australians arm themselves with the facts and ideas they need to speak with friends and family.
Because the only way this gets fixed is if ordinary Australians start having these conversations in their homes, workplaces, and communities, and demand that our leaders put the nation’s future first.
If we’re going to turn things around, it will take more than short-term fixes or political rhetoric. It will take courage, clarity, and leadership bold enough to make the hard calls.
This clip is so indicative of what is wrong with the Liberals, and shows why they are going to get wiped out at the next election.
Average people can feel and see that something is being lost due to mass migration, but instead of trying to address that concern seriously, Hastie's response is to use derogatory, meaningless labels like 'woke right' to shut down any meaningful discussion.
People are sick of this.
But if it happened over a long time, it then somehow wouldn't be a major rupture of national continuity?
People are not blank slates, our ethnicity is a very real part of who we are. It's not the only part, but it is an essential element.
Among other things, Australians are fundamentally a Anglo-Celtic / European people. Our founding fathers recognised this. Everyone did until 50 years go.
Let me ask you this: if over a long period, Japan became majority ethnically African, but those Africans adopted the Japanese way of life, are those Africans now Japanese? Genuine question I'd be curious to hear your response on.

@ReesinkTimothy Genuine question for you. If Australia become majority Indian, but those Indians subscribed to Australian law, spoke English, respected our institutions, etc, would it still be Australia?
@ReesinkTimothy Wanting continuity with our heritage is not an extreme position.
Hastie is seemingly fine if Australia becomes majority Indian, so long as they all wave Australian flags.
At that point, is it really Australia anymore?
@EndWokeness Imagine if the roles were reversed. A gang of white teens attack a black teen, then the first action of the police who are standing by is to arrest the black teen who was just attacked.
It'd be decried as a horrid, racist attack.
Seriously, this sort of thing red pills people.
“Progressive patriotism” is a contradiction in terms.
Progressives are universalist, they inherently reject nationhood, so the only version of patriotism available to them is pride in the things that undermine the nation itself.
That is why the “progressive patriot” always ends up celebrating multiculturalism, diversity, and openness, not as features of the nation, but as substitutes for it.
Yet again, we're seeing just how entrenched the liberal narrative is in the establishment Right.
"Guys, guys, look how racist the other party is..."
He speaks as if one of the worst moral evils one could commit is to be racist.
And of course, racism is adjacent to Nazism, and the worst possible thing someone could be is a Nazi! Hense Tim Wilson trying to frame other side as evil daplorable racists.
It's the classic WWII narrative. Liberal democracy is the ultimate good, Nazi authoritarianism is the ultimate evil. Anything close to Nazism is the worst evil, and anything liberal is ultimately good.

If you listen to what she's saying, it's incredibly ironic because the structure of her argument is that whites are inferior, while she's complaining about supposed racial politics which views other groups as inferior.
We all know that this is progressive 101, and has been for a long time, so there's nothing new here. But the point is that this sort of stuff really does wake people up.
Just note again how she mentions black excellence and brown excellence, but white mediocrity. Would she ever dream of saying white excellence?
Even though there's plenty of examples of it, to her it wouldn't just be wrong to say it on a political level. Ontologically, it would be wrong to her because whites, as a group, are only really there as a source of scorn and derision.
And again, we all know why this exists at this point.
When you forget who and what you are, you lose touch with the transcendent, your group lineage or identity, etc.
Inevitably, you'll fall into the blank slate ideologies of modernity, that everybody's interchangeable and ergo inequality can only be described by 'oppression through the neo-Marxist frame.'
People like Pauline Hanson, Nigel Farage, or similar 'right-wing populist' types just want everybody to believe in meritocracy and the free market, but that doesn't solve inequality. Which is why the progressives win, because other post-liberal forms are basically unsayable through the modern frame.
What this means is women like this subconsciously catch on to the power structure of the age and they will actually defend the worst behavior of given groups because they see it as an act of opportunity to show their actual virtue.
It's why Islam, which is clearly the most oppressive towards women worldwide, will be the one they'll defend the most.
It's not because they have any natural affinity, of course, it's because it's an opportunity for them to show their virtue, their in-group status to the modern liberal power structure of the age.
This data is completely wrong. DemosAU has updated with an apology. Turns out people who don’t speak English at home are way more left-wing, and One Nation’s support base are actual Australians after all.
@JoshButler That is the later modified version from the 80's. The original version of that verse from Federation was
"For loyal sons beyond the seas
We've boundless plains to share;"
@SBSNews You know, not everyone views things through the lens of what's best for the economy. Some of us just want Australia to remain Australian, even if that means taking a backward step economically.
Also, upward pressure doesn't automatically translate to higher prices. There can be downward pressure on prices in a market that will be greater than the upward pressure caused by immigration.
Still, this doesn't change the fact that high immigration = upward pressure on prices.
In no world does adding more people into a country put downward pressure on house prices.
More demand = upward pressure on prices. It's really not that hard to understand.
Pointing to the COVID period doesn't prove anything, because it can take years for the effects to be properly felt in the market. But it is simply basic logic that more people in the country will, inevitably, put upward pressure on house prices.
