For three months now I have attempted to cancel my subscription via website, phone, chatbot and email. I have been told I cannot cancel my monthly subscription each time and been charged each month.

@DrStavra @chrissyfarr Australia has always interested me for its public/private attributes which are similar to Germany but also due to its historical challenges somewhat similar to ours in the USA.

I think this is the best international model to aspire to.

Similarly related but different, a crackdown should be considered for services/products with recurring charges which can be initiated but not terminated online. Some car insurance can be purchased online in minutes but only terminated over the phone through a lengthy process.

We’re cracking down on hidden "junk" fees like surprise overdraft and deposit fees, credit card late fees, hidden hotel booking fees.

Even those termination charges that stop you from switching cable and internet plans to get a better deal.
