Main updates: I moved to my 2nd host family. I am now in Affoltern Switzerland. The first thing we did when I got here was go on a walk with their goats at sunset. Wow.

Back in June, I help my mom clean out her pool shed. There's a strand of old twinkle lights with plastic flamingos. "Throw them out," she says. "They don't work." But I see that the flamingos came off easily, so I start to pull them off. "I can do something with these."

NTP has released results from its investigation of the extensive July 24th #ONstorm damage in eastern Ontario. The damage - rated up to EF2 - was caused by one supercell tornado with a 55.8 km length and 1420 m max width.

My Parents and I just had this conversation. I crave the community that seemed to exist when my parents grew up. And I wonder, if you boil it all down, those communities existed on the foundation that families could survive off a single income.
