A senior Labour Councillor peddles antisemitic conspiracy theories in a #LabourParty meeting and is not only unchallenged at the time, but selected as a Parliamentary candidate. #SameoldLabour

With stopping Russia in Ukraine a key national security priority for the UK, I'd be genuinely concerned about a Trump victory in November. We need the US to defend democracy, not appease dictators.

The #Rwanda plan is not about stopping those in danger coming to the UK (the boats are overwhelmingly coming from France). Its about stopping criminal gangs exploiting the vulnerable by taking them from one safe country to another.

Alistair Darling was a hugely respected figure who will be remembered not only for his time as Chancellor but also for the very significant role he played in keeping the Union together in 2014. Very sad news. RIP

Another #Labour Council run into the ground due to reckless spending (#Robinhoodenergy!) and an inability to make the really tough decisions needed to balance the budget. #Nottinghamcitycouncil

Persistently badly behaved students disrupt the learning and development of their classmates. That's simply not fair. Schools should be able to remove those students much more easily to give students who do want to be there the chance to thrive. @bbc5live

Labour asked itself who it wanted to succeed a London-centric leader who lost a General Election badly because he didn't understand why people voted for Brexit?
A: A London MP who was a passionate remainer!
Well done Labour, well done!

Delighted to receive the inaugural LGBT+ Inclusion Award on behalf of Charnwood BC today. I received the certificate from Theo McCarthy-Hirst of the Leicester LGBT Centre as a sign of Charnwood's commitment and support to the LGBT community. @CharnwoodBC@LeicesterLGBT
It was the annual Thrussington village litter pick this morning. We weren't going to let something like a major storm put us off (and in fairness, the rain did hold off it's full force until we finished)! With local MP Ed Argar in this photo. #Thrussington#litterpick#Charnwood

Lily Allen: 'Sick to death of luvvies like a Lawrence Fox going on TV and forcing their opinions on everybody else, when heโll never have to deal with what normal people have to deal with in his gated community.'

If Scotland does eventually become independent I would be deeply sad about that but to say it's not England's business if the union breaks up is like saying it's non if my wife's business if I divorce her.
Scotland had a 'once in a generation' referendum 5 years ago and voted to stay in the UK. We can't keep having neverendums every 5 years forever - that would lead to perpetual uncertainty and division not just north of the border but for the UK as a whole. #INDYREF2#BorisJohnson
Today I have written to Nicola Sturgeon. The Scottish people voted decisively to keep our United Kingdom together, a result which both the Scottish and UK Governments committed to respect.
Let's make 2020 a year of growth and opportunity for the whole of the UK ๐ฌ๐ง
England and Scotland have been in political union for 300 years. The future of the Union is as much England's concern as it is Scotland's. I fully accept Scottish nationalists will disagree with me but I see my nationality as British and Scotland as an important part of the UK.
@bbc5live I live in Leicester and wanted to take my wife to Edinburgh for a weekend away - the train was going to cost me more than ยฃ300 each for a return. Until trains gets much cheaper, internal flights will remain an important part of the UK transport network. #5LiveBreakfast
@DavidmcK3 It's about acknowledging Scotland made a major constitutional decision in 2014 and respecting that. What happens if there was another referendum and Scotland voted to stay in the UK? INDYREF3? 4? 104? Uncertainty in Scotland affects the whole UK.
