After an ok, getting less and less impressed with @goustocooking - missing ingredients, multiple substitution emails which mean changes to recipes (which doesn't help with the whole idea of whoever is home first starts cooking), and then this week decide to deliver a day early!
@oldenoughtosay Paris. He'd booked v fancy restaurant, pretending we were just "going somewhere local & casual". I refused to leave the hotel room as Ireland were beating England in the rugby and I wanted to watch the end. He nearly lost the reservation (and hefty deposit) as we were late!
@TMIrelandHelp is there a problem with transferring tickets right now? Trying to send to my daughter for concert tonight and it keeps telling me my "browsing has been paused"
@clhubes Definitely. I had one that was hard to get to sleep but once she did, she was down for the night from a very early age. The other was "the incredible non-sleeping baby" who woke at 45 minute intervals up to an age I really don't like to tell new parents because it terrifies them!
@StolenStitches Documentaries mostly. The deal in our house is, if I'm knitting, the G gets control of the remote (with my veto). He tends to choose documentaries that I can follow along and talk about with him, without having to have my full focus on the screen.
@bioniclaura I haven't got to the name tag stage - I had the panicked alteration of skirt as today's job. C doesn't start til Monday though so I have a few days still.
@bioniclaura I'm not sure what I'm going to do with my evenings now! Have been sitting down every evening since it started to catch up on the day. It's been really amazing.
@wyvernfriend My old viola came out of the attic at my Mum's recently. I wasn't very good, and I don't think I'd even remember how to play now, but I did love playing in an orchestra.
@EmmaQuinlan Not horseflies specifically but I'm sure there's a "where you grew up element". In NZ I am plagued by sand flies, but they ignore my husband who grew up there. Over here, the midges love him and totally ignore me. In 3rd countries it seems to be equal opportunity biting 🤣
@bioniclaura We have it mostly so G can watch car shows so I was so pleased when I realised they were showing Olympics. Have already been watching the rugby 7s and am looking forward to being an expert in every possible sport for the next few weeks 😀
@StolenStitches A teddy bear I made when I was about 12 or 13. It was knit it 2 identical flat pieces and stitched together, so it looked like a kids drawing of a teddy. When my kids found it years later they nicknamed it "road kill teddy" 🤦♀️ I'm pretty sure it's still around somewhere.
@seafoid19 I have a feeling that if you have done the online renewal, you can't get one via the appointment system. We had trouble with an out of date passport last year and me not realising that Easter would slow it all down. Because I'd already applied, I couldn't apply again in person
@DreamSong77 I did this years ago when I moved to rural Japan for a year. Monthly rambling emails to friends. I no longer have access to the email account and now I'd love to look back on my (likely fairly self absorbed 20-something) ramblings.
@kariebookish I was trying to cast on for a sock. Took me the whole of the first half because I kept having to put it down to watch more closely (and listen to the German commentary - we're away, it was the only option in hotel, and my German is a bit rusty!)
@AngieBeatDown@LoraineMaddison Oat milk works really well for that sort of thing - added bonus, when you start making family meals it's a really good replacement in most cooking. (I think custard was my only failure in the dairy-allergic-toddler years)
