get your weird, hateful identity politics out of crypto
you are singling out one of the most brilliant cryptographers in our industry for how they look and chose to present themselves and not for their ideas and contributions - that is the most anti crypto thing ive seen in a long time
targeting someone based on who they are is nasty, childish, inexcusable behavior
So much talent shown by @GiulioRebuffo here at #EthBerlin We are basically ready to add a third verkle-enabled client ahead of the verkle tree testnet relaunch.
@_SamWilsn_@brockjelmore Even though you can influence randomness by tweaking the blockhash, getting keccak256 to output a desired value is basically impossible iiuc
It's time for a new #verkle testnet update https://t.co/qmGnXMbijk Big shoutout to @TimBeiko for telling me about the existence of hackmd's book feature.
@irinaborogan I've worked in software development for over 30 years and let me tell you, Russian software devs are top-notch. They are well educated and brilliant in their line of work. And indeed, you will not be able to replace them easily, quickly, or reasonably in any way.
@ricmoo@nicksdjohnson@peter_szilagyi "break backwards compatibility"- the assumption being that introducing evm-based metering would involve iterating every contract on-chain and inserting metering ops (making codehash not include the metering ops). I'm unsure if this could break existing contracts. Probably not.
@ricmoo@nicksdjohnson@peter_szilagyi Actually, breaking the code into segments which don't include conditional/branching and doing one metering statement per segment might be sufficient. Not entirely sure if/how this could break backwards compatibility.
@nicksdjohnson@peter_szilagyi And as it turns out, the transpiled wasm for a given evm bytecode would be way slower than ran through an evm interpreter (256bit operations implemented with 64bit wasm operations are slow).
@nicksdjohnson@peter_szilagyi It didn't really solve gas metering though. Operations with dynamic gas costs would still be part of consensus with EWASM.
I'm starting a series of threads to highlight some of the changes that come with stateless #Ethereum and #Verkle trees. Today, I'm going to talk about the changes to the block format.
@HolgerD77 NATO engaging and shooting down aircraft of the country with the most nuclear weapons, led by a ruthless unpredictable dictator? That seems like a very dangerous escalation.
